Question Richie FSB + OEM Alarm = Headache

I'm curious to know if anyone has had this issue, and if so, what was done to resolve it.

Early last year I got on a group buy for the Richie front strut bar and installed it about a month or so later. Then late last year my car alarm started going off at random intervals. It's been to the stealership several times for them to repair it and after about 5 complaints and 4 trips they finally ran some diagnositic that pointed to the hood sensor switch. I get a call today and they say the Richie SB is the cause becasue it makes the hood bulge.

So it's taken several months and multiple trips for the jack offs at the dealership to say that "it's your fault for having that bar on there." Even though it's been on there for about a year.

I'm asking for help because I know a lot of people use this bar and haven't really seen anyone complain about it (at least not in this way).

Any advice/info would be appreciated.

Parting note.... If you're interested it's the Jim Coleman Stealership in Bethesda Maryland.... and no, I won't be going back to them for anything else. I've had nothing but problems with them and their dis-service.

sounds like the hood pin isnt being completely depressed causing the intermittent alarms. You should be able to move the bracket up slightly, or dremel the fsb mounts so it sits lower

I'll loosen it up and see if I can't do that. Otherwise I'll uninstall it and give that dremel remedy a try... unless someone has a better idea.
