Once I hit the button to increase the temperature from 60*F to 61*F, the air becomes dramatically warmer. As soon as I hit the button it sounds like it is taking the engine/car time to adjust it self, sounding like it pauses for a second and decides to push hot air out instead of cold air.

How can I check to see if my A/C compressor is 100%?

I had something like this after getting my iPod connector installed. The install tech forgot to reconnect the cabin temp sensor. All I got was hot air till he reconnected it.
It is in the drivers side footwell, right side of steering wheel.

Just a thought.

Without the A/C and the temperature at set 69*F, the air is as warm as like 85*F. Regular outside air flow is WARM at a cool temperature (no A/C). After about 15 minutes you will be sweating at basically any temperature. I can't imagine how this would be in the Summer.

 

I'm dropping the car at the dealer on Wednesday so they can diagnose the problem. I will let you guys know what the cause of it is. Hopefully it will not be too expensive!

 

My 2003 Sedan started doing the exact same thing this morning. Set at 60deg. it blows cold air , either from the outside or possibly from the A/C at 61 all the way to 65deg is blows warmer air.......... anything above 65deg is hot air, and when I set the temp to 90deg, it is extremely hot.... too hot to touch..

 

I had the same problem with my coupe. The belt that runs the AC snapped. No matter where I set the temp it would blow hot hair.

 

its the climate control in your car...your car will blow the air as hot as it needs to be for the inside temp to reach 61 degrees. my G does the same thing, however after the temp in the cabin has reached whatever temp I set it to, the air will progressively cool down. Its been like this on 1 maxima, 1 I30, and now the G so Im just used to it i guess.

 

The Nissan dealer tested everything and took two hours to do so. They couldn't find anything wrong with the HVAC system. I'm not sure if I agree, but we'll see what happens in the warmer weather (Spring, Summer).

 

I am 100% sure there is something wrong with my HVAC. I was just in my friend's Lexus, with Auto Climate Control, and at 70*F cold air was blowing from the top vents.

At 70*F (with the A/C on) in my G35, the air is hot! It smells like hot air does. Cold air and hot air have two different, distinct smells.

I noticed this problem a couple months ago. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my cars, so I know what should or shouldn't be working on my G.

 

There has been a screeching noise coming from the belt area when I accelerate from a stop. It seemed to have been associated with the A/C when it is on because the noise goes away when I turn it off. I disconnected the A/C Compressor belt, took the idler pulley, and left the belt off.

With the A/C belt completely off (still running with the other belt) the noise is gone and the problem I am having seems to have gotten better. Better meaning the in-cabin air is more tolerable at a lower temperature and not as hot.

With the A/C compressor disconnected I don't see why the air would stay the same temperature as before, if the dealer said everything was operating properly? Shouldn't it be warmer without the A/C compressor connected?

 

You are not alone brother....I have the same issue. Cold at 60%...Nuclear summer at 61%. I don't get it either, and have yet to come up with an answer. Just for reference I live in pheonix were the temp is already triple digits. I checked it this afternoon and its the same as always cold at 60, blows hot at 61 with no variation even if a set the temp to max. I hope someone knows something on this because it sucks when my girl says she'd rather take her 3 series cuz its hot out lol.

 

Someone suggested this in an earlier but did you recently take apart your stereo? This requires both left and right underpanels to be removed. On the driver's underpanel is a cabin temp sensor that is located near your right knee. It's the rectangular looking thing with vent slats. Behind that is were the temp sensor is located. Make sure that is connected up. I had worked on my stereo and then the a/c behaved exactly like yours. I took it to the dealer and they took everything apart and found that the cabin temp sensor was not conected. They told me they can connected it up for $150 .. I'm like no thanks leave it as is and I will do it . After I reconnected it, everything was fine. Well that was my experience with that type of problem. Hopes this helps. Another thing... if you didn't take your stereo apart or it is connected .. it could mean the sensor is bad.
