I went to start my 03.5 6MT sedan today and I didn't have any power to my radio or climate control. The center dash display was stuck on auto/ac high at 90* so I had to drive my 30 min commute with the heat blasting at full bore with no radio, not fun let me tell you.

It worked just fine last night when I ran a few different errands. The only other time anything like this happened, the radio shut of and reset as I was driving to the lake a few weeks ago. All the presets were gone but everything else worked fine again.

I don't think it is a fuse, but that is what I will check first. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

Thanks!

I'm going through the EXACT same thing as you right now. I'll be cruising down the road and all of a sudden i lose power to the radio and the auto ac turns on and you can't turn it off unless you turn off the car for a while. I was reading somewhere that its a faulty circuit board, i'll try to find the link to where i read that. Let me know if you figure out a way to fix it or find any more insight on it.

SOB did it again this morning!

After I posted that yesterday, I had to run to the other side of town for a closing and suddenly, everything turned on fine as I was driving down the interstate. Everything was re-set, so no presets on the radio. Drove over 150 miles yesterday around town all over the place, worked fine the whole time.

Get in the car to swing out to the office before going to the lake for the day, turn the ignition, everything is fine for about 3 seconds. Then, BAM, power off and my climate control is stuck again.

I know it can't be a fuse and your guess of a circuit board is a solid one. I am also going to check with my mechanic today and have him take a look at it. I am at about to turn 100k miles, so my guess is just avg wear and tear on the vehicle; but, I just want to know what it is so I can FIX IT!

Please let me know if you figure anything out too...

so how and where did you get it fixed? did you take it to a local shop or the dealership? I thought I was in the clear and then today driving down the street the thing went nutz again so I guess I wasn't in the clear

Go to the link above. I shipped my stereo to them on Sat morning and they already called and are shipping it back. Repair cost is a little steep $315, but they also fixed the CD player (which was broken when I bought the car). I would HIGHLY recomend them. Also, pay the $6.99 for the directions on how to take it out. It's a huge PITA and even with my years of car stereo experience, I was thankful I had them. (They also give you a $10 credit towards a repair, so they pay you to use them.) Good luck!
