2008 G35 Power Steering Fluid

I went to the dealer today to buy power steering fluid and coolant for my 2008 G35 sedan.

Surprisingly, the parts desk gave me Matic-D for the power steering fluid and claimed it would work. Was the dealer's parts desk wrong??

Go to a napa or Kregan auto parts store. They have given me better advice than dealers plenty of times.

If you look on the power steering reservoir cap, it will say "Dextron Type ATF." This means you could use any compatible fluid. My personal recommended is the Amsoil ATF

So you're saying we can mix Amsoil ATF with the Matic-D ATF?

What is the best way to do a power steering system flush?

I've read on forums of other vehicles that people have evacuated the power steering fluid from the reservoir, turned the steering lock to lock a few times, then evacuated whatever was left in the reservoir, then added fluid into the reservoir, turned the steering lock to lock, then kept adding until the level wouldn't drop..

I like to drain all of the old fluid by disconnecting the reservoir return line. Then I put through about 1 or 2 qts of fluid. With the wheels off the ground and then engine OFF, turn the steering wheel lock to lock until the level in the reservoir drops.keep the level topped up above cold min. After you are satisfied, reconnect the return line and keep turning lock to lock until the fluid level no longer drops. Then start the car and carefully monitor the PS fluid level, if it drops below cold min, make sure to stop the engine and top it off right away. You can also top if off as the engine is running, that is, if you are careful and don't spill any

here is a video to illustrate the process with the addition of an in-line magnefine power steering filter:
