Clicking noise in dash when starting car

Just noticed this over the past few days but when I go to crank the car you can hear a rapid clicking noise in the dash to the left of the steering column(4-5 clicks, I'd say it sounds like a pen clicking but softer). Car starts/runs fine. Its been in the low to mid-30s lately so I wonder if the temperature has something to do with it.
