Catch tanks & STD EVAP system?
Catch tanks & STD EVAP system?
I notice that some people run a catch tank, does this bypass the std evap system? or do you need to remove the whole system, and does this cause any cel lights as from what i can see, there is a pressure sensor in the system

Your answers are no, no, and no.
Most catch cans are just installed between the PCV valve and the plenum. All they do is route the vapors coming out of the valve through the can which collects oil droplets and keeps them from entering the plenum. This keeps the engine cleaner in the long rum.
Other benefit is a lot of varieties look good in the engine bay.

Thanks for the reply, but I know all about fitting and using catch tanks,
What i was wondering is, if anyone had actually bothered to remove the std evap system, and i wasn't sure if the engine breathers were linked into the system?
