installing paddle shifters

Recently picked up an 07 g35 sedan (black), and my first mod is going to be installing the sport paddle shifters. I use manumatic a lot and I would love to do this from the steering wheel....soooooo I ordered the kit from Riverside.

I found a walk through on this site for installing these by taking the steering wheel off. I'm going to be attempting this mod without taking the wheel off. Tony at Riverside gave me a breakdown over the phone on how to do this.

I was wondering if anyone has any info on this install, particularly if you've done it without removing the steering wheel.

I will post pictures (hopefully) and give some feedback on how this goes.

Yeah, I saw a couple of threads, that are now closed. Everything I have seen so far talks about taking the wheel off. I'm trying to avoid that, so I don't need to worry about damaging the airbag.

dude, come down to Los Angeles. I'll take you to in-n-out if you make the drive. totally worth it haha. I'm sure there's people in Ohio who could help you out. I vaguely remember a substantial Ohio G club. Did you check the regional forums?

PM DaveB. He has installed these and should be able to point you to his thread.

Just got done doing the install tonight with the kit I purchased from riverside Infiniti. I did this without taking the wheel off, and it was really pretty easy. It's actually amazing how easy it is to put factory paddle shifters on the G.

I would recommend to anyone doing this mod to NOT take off the steering wheel. No need to deal with the hassle and risk of disassembling the airbag.

Loving my new paddle shifters.

on a side note...does anyone else get the hard shift from 2 to 3 from time to time?
