04 G35 stuck in park

04 Infinity G35 stuck in park. Also the brake lights seem to have gone out at the same time. Will a blown brake light fuse cause the car to stick in park? Anyone have a solution? Thanks!

I had a similar problem on my car, turned out to be the brake switch above the brake pedal. Replaced it everything started working again.

Brake light fuse would just affect the brake lights only, not the locking mechanism on the shifter.

Thanks Skyline, it was the fuse for anti-skid system. Apparently, there are four fuses that have some control over the braking system and if any one of the four goes out, it will lock the shifter. The brake switch, as you mentioned, will also lockup the shifter if it needs to be replaced.

Depends on the year and model of your car. Luckily the good folks at nicoclub have posted many factory service manuals right here:

Find your model-year, grab some manuals, read up, and you can become an expert on your own vehicle.

I learned from another thread... it turned out to be a 10 amp fuse everything running perfectly now!
