Are 5-114.3 and 5-115 wheels interchangeable?

Hi there, i've heard from some sources that you can get away with putting 5-114.3 wheels on 5-115 cars and vice versa.

Can anybody here confirm or deny this?

I'm giving my rims (5-114.3) to my dad who has a cadillac sts with a 5-115 fitment.

I don't doubt that it'll FIT. but is it really totally safe and the proper thing to do?

You'll need a hub centric ring to quell vibrations on freeway speeds.

These two sizes aren't interchangeable per se, but can be made to work. Is it the right thing to do? I, for one, think one should use the right size for the application.

thanks for the reply. I think you're right.

I also don't think i could sleep at night knowing i might have jeopardized the safety of the car.
