Do bigger oil pans read the same reading on dipstick?

I'm confused as to where I should fill my oil up according to the dipstick. If it is a bigger pan would the low level on the stick be the right amount. Or should I just stick to filling it to the H line? Oh yeah it's a 2 quarts bigger, any help would be appreciated.

Still fill it to the same spot on the dipstick...the purpose of a bigger pan is more oil so if you fill it 1/2 full what is the point of having a larger pan

wat he said.
OP's logic would only work if you put the same amount of oil in that is manuf. recommended. in which case if the bigger pan allowed say X quarts more oil, youd be down X quarts from the full line.

oh and welcome to the boards

My main concern is over filling the car with unnecessary oil. The person I bought the car from put the bigger pan on there. So pretty much if I fill it to the Full line will that be ok?

Full to the H line on the dipstick. You can probably extend your OCI's since you have more oil in there.
