Fuel leak 03 G35 coupe
So I topped off the car for the 2nd time...
I parked in the driveway ( about a 6 degree angle ) and there was a fair size puddle of fuel ( roughly ) by the gas cap area on the ground...
I do not get a check engine light from lack of tank pressure....
Any thoughts before I plow in tomorrow....

More info & rumor
I took the car to my mechanic and we saw where the leak "" WAS " but it had all but dried out. I had put 18 miles on the car since fill up.... So we added ~ 2.5 gallons and it started raining fuel.... Pass side. right by where the rear cross member bolts up to the frame ( forward of the rear wheel ) Note the leak was dripping behind the width of the rear tire... so as it trickled down the driveway it appeared to be coming from the fill neck area.
We pulled all the wheel well plastics out to confirm there wasn't a second leak there & the vapor seperator area was bone dry.
That being said My guy wanted ~ 700.00 to drop the tank & replace all the hoses that you can't get to when the cars assembled... He sent me on my way to drive the car & bring it back empty next week.
Yesterday I called the dealership to get some history on my ride & found out some nice things ( both window motors were replaced & a couple of recalls we're done ) AND they will do the pass side seat air bag connector recall for no charge, and the fact my car is a salvage had no bearing on the matter..
I told him about my fuel leak issue and he mentioned that there have been some issues
with the seal of the O rings on the fuel pump & gas gauge senders seeping...
SO I guess I'll have a looksie on that HOPING I will not have to drop the tank!

Ok well that was a big goose egg.....
Popped the rear seat took off the cover panels...
Dry as a bone for the fuel pump & gas sender, so It must be the fill line or one of the two
vapor lines at the rear of the tank and if I HAD to bet the farm I'm thinking fill line...
1) The leak is on the pass side. So the hose to tank coupling is where the leak is & it's running down the tank top to bottom flange & dumping out above the cross member.
2) Since the return lines are center line of the tank the leak would be dripping (maybe) more along centerline of the car with the car parked on an angle.
Odd bits... I do not get a Check engine light for the tank not being up to pressure...
So drive the car this week till its very close to empty & drop it off!
It's about a 6 hr job
Muffler, drive shaft, cross member, top side connections all have to come out before a full drop of the tank....
Uggghhhh

Did you have headers installed on the car recently? The fuel lines run along the passenger side and bead upward at the passengers side header location and meet at a blue plastic fitting that has to be snapped into place. If you had parked at an upward angle the fuel could have leaked there and trickled down the lines and dripped off in the rear. Just a thought
