A Completely Irrational Question for all you G35 Junkies

Now, I have myself a beauty of a G35 as a first car and I plan on keeping for just about ever and taking very good care of, I had a very odd question...How much horsepower can you put in that thing without worrying about damaging the frame? Since I doubt that engine will stay stock for long.I know it's obviously nothing to worry about now, but still. I'm just curious on this one.

you are joking right? You said irrational but wow. Or are you planning on putting a big block chevy v8 in it somewhere down the road?

Short answer is don't worry about the frame holding up. Search and you will learn a lot about how little power you can build on these motors before you have to go boosted to make more power. The cars with the highest power aren't stressing the body. Even boosted LS V8s aren't going to break it.

It isn't really something I needed to worry about as much as I was just curious about. I've seen a few rat-roads that ended up with frame damage and was just curious as to what a G35 could take.

Frame is the least of your concerns. Adding power is damn near impossible without running FI. Do a lot of research b4 you start thinking about more power. & just know if you decide to go FI prepare to drop lots of money into your car! GLWSEARCH!!

g35 chassis is stiffer than the 350z in my experience. it does not flex from 3 point corner jack, and most cars flex a lot from that. 2 jacks at front body frame rails, 1 jack at any corner rear frame rail. jack it up and car still goes up evenly.

the g/z engine cannot produce enough power to flex the chassis enough, even at 550whp. but track use with that much power i still suggest a cage, when you hit the wall at 130mph.... the car will still crumble if you are not caged up.
