Ok so I just bought a 2004 G35 Coupe 6-speed manual a few weeks ago and i've noticed a few things and was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong and how much it might cost. The car has ~114000 kms(71000 miles) on it
-When shifting into 5th gear if I shift quickly i hear a grinding noise, but if i shift slowly it doesnt make it and its only 4th to 5th downshifting from 6th is fine
-occasionally when i depress the clutch theres a loud squeeling noise when im slowing down/at a full stop and when i start the car there is a loud squeeling that happens sometimes too, it might last for only a second or for a minute and it stays while i drive and shift gears (if im at a full stop i can put it in 5th fine with no grinding)
-driver side window rolls down fine until it reaches the last few inches then it clunks and just drops down, and sometimes it takes awhile to roll back up, with my music playing i can hear a slight rattle coming from inside the door too
Not sure if the temperature outside has to do with it but its pretty cold outside where i live

sound like ur syncros are goin.. 5th gear..

 

Any idea of how much a repair would cost?

 

i would take it to a trusted transmission shop.. while they are in ur tranny you mind as well get all the synchros replaced.. i'm not sure how much repairs would b..
