So i was at the gym and i dropped a 70lbs dumbell on my key fob. it got crushed.

and after doing all research ive decided to go get a smart key from Ebay and program it myself (thanks to DIY thread)

but question is will this smart key work on my 03 g35 coupe?
i want this particular remote because it has the emblem on it. Looks fancy

I know it only says its capable for 07-10 g35. But some ebay sellers don't know what theyre talking about.

Nope. Won't work. You have to get the 03-05 FOB.....BUTTTT you can get the casing for the 06+ FOB and do the DIY to make the guts of your 03-05 fit inside of the newer one.

 

oh. i dont want to alter anything (transponder, etc etc..) I guess i'll have to get the blank ones.

So I bought a smart key from ebay, and got it all programmed(thanks to DIY).
Went to Walmart to get it cut, they said they don't cut this kind and have to go to a dealer to get it done, went to Lowes they said the same thing. I'm afraid to call the dealer cause they might charge me hella much. But I have no choice. I'll give them a call on monday, also gonna try other local locksmith. Wish me luck!!

 

Ah finally got my key cut from a local locksmith! YAY

though i have one more problem. the key locks/unlocks my car but it doesnt start it.
It cranks up but doesnt start it all the way. im gonna have to do more researching. but if you have any ideas please help me out.
