03 G35 Noise
03 G35 Noise
Hoping someone could help me figure out where the hell this noise is coming from. wikisend.com/download/180096
I've had this noise on and off for the past few months. 93,000miles on the G. The majority of the time the noise is worse in wet weather. Noise only happens in drive when giving it light gas 1500-2500 rpm. But it follows the throttle. If you give it continuous throttle it'll just keep whining out.
So far I've got a new belt on there. Has the tension checked. Checked the pulleys with by off and there was no resistance or noise. I went to a stealership for the idler pulleys to take a shot in the dark, I told them what I thought I needed but had them do the diagnosis for the hell of it. Foreman said it was the fan clutch. I went on several test drives with him. He said he was sure. Didn't fix it. And of course every time I went to show him on a test drive the car wouldn't make the noise.
I feel as though its a pulley bearing. It's just got that tight resistance that's making a metallic whine. At very low speeds on a wet day without any throttle at cold start up it grinds. Sounds like a creaky wood floor.
I've read a ton of posts but wanted to get some insight.
Thanks
