05' Coupe door switch issues

seems that my 05' coupe door switches are not recognizing when my door is opened. Just purchased this 05', window motor was flakey, replaced with new motor, window works fine. I have read about the reset procedure which I will try tonight...but I don't think this is the issue. My window is not going down slightly when door is opened, and my interior light seems to work intermittently, sometimes comes on at night when doors are opened, most times not. This is happening on both doors passenger and driver. Anyone every had an issue with this?

If the dome light issue is happening on both doors that points to the light. If yours has the slider switch "off - on - door" try exercising that about 100 times. Also the press on and off of the individual lights... That might clean the contacts enough to make it work properly.

The door switch is exposed when you open the door (it's on the body, not the door). Push it, pull it, see if you can determine if it's worn out or not. Any after market alarm systems? Hopefully it's not a BCM issue.

no aftermarket alarm just audio. has jdm double din that's it. otherwise completely stock. I didn't really see a switch. looked more like a bumper to me, just a round, about the size of a quarter, 1/4" deep thing is all I seen. Will look again after work. I too thought it was odd for both door switches to do this at same time. what is a BCM?

Yes, that "bumper" is the switch. By the way, if you want to really get into it your factory service manuals are here (thanks to the NICO club):
http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Coupe/2005/

BCM = Body Control Module, one of our black boxes which controls a ton of things from remote entry to sunroof to "interior lamp timer", etc, etc...

yes my doors are relocking too after a few seconds. my acura does this, but has a setting for how long you want it to wait to relock if door isn't opened. I'm guessing its the door switch, I tried to goof with it, didn't seem to have any spring to it
