Motor mount nut. Can't get to it. Please help.
Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've owned my 03 G35 for a little while.
The drivers side motor mount is bad, so I purchased a new one. I put the car up on my lift, and the bottom nut was easy to remove, but I can't find a way to reach the top nut. I tried from the top, but a socket won't fit because of the heat shield/exhaust, and I tried from under the car, but a wrench won't fit because of the tight clearances. Normally, I can figure stuff like this out pretty quickly, and on my own, but this thing has me stumped. How do I get it out of there? Any help is appreciated. Hope this is the right section for this. |
I used a flexible head rachet spanner. I think I've also done it by removing the four bolts holding the engine mount to the block, using a flat spanner and something else for leverage. There really isn't much space in there though.
EDIT: Driver side is much easier to access, a flexible head spanner should do it. |
Thanks.
I'll have to go get a set of the flex head wrenches. I have a ton of tools, except those lol |
