Exclamation Clicking with recirculating AC on

Hello guys!

This is my first time posting, sorry if this isn't the right place to post this thread.

I have a 2005 Automatic G35 Coupe and recently I've had a problem with my AC system. When I turn on recirculation, there would be a clicking sound coming from the passenger side of the dashboard. If anyone has any idea please help!

Thank you very much! The google link below is a video showing the issue.

Sorry again if this has been resolved in the past already, I didn't know how to find it.

Blend door actuator. Probably the one behind the glovebox

You'll have to remove at least the glove compartment and probably the head unit assembly. Remove the glove compartment and locate where the noise is exactly coming from. You should be able to feel the blend door actuator clicking. The actuator has a gear made of plastic and the teeth will strip and stop engaging. Once you find the part, get the part number and buy a new one. Part #9 in the diagram

Take off the cabin air filter and see what's blocking the fresh air blend door. When that clicking sound happened to me it turned out to be the positive battery cover fell off and went down into the cabin filter area.

Thanks for the help guys!

While at it, I also changed the cabin air filter and it looks like a ga damn mop was stuck in it.

This was the thing that blocked the air blend doors from closing causing the clicking sound.

You're not supposed to clean those filters with a mop...

No idea, probably previous owner. But it's been in there for years, clicking only happened recently.

Do you have the part# of the blend door actuator? Did you purchase from Infiniti or box store?

I didn't actually replace anything. For me, it was just something blocking the actuator door and I was able to correct it myself. Maybe check if there is something blocking it first before replacement.

Best of luck
