Temperature guage going to Hot

My temperature guage goes to hot After driving about 2 miles... car never oberheats but can smell slight coolant burn smell after park car..there is no funny milky color in oil, and the reaevlir is at correct level... please help!!!! Was told may ne head gasket but car runs fine..

Sounds like you need to have a mechanic check it out. There are more than a couple other -- MUCH SIMPLER - things that could be at fault over the head gasket so be careful taking repair advice from that person in the future.

Just to be sure, my point was don't go with the head gasket failure and run with it. On most, if not all cars, that's a major repair. Plus, with the symptoms you describe as well as what you're not seeing, it doesn't sound like a head gasket failure.
