New owner of '03 G35 sedan...

Just wanted to say hi and thank you guys for all the good info. I've found on this site. I don't know much about repairs, modifications, etc., so I hope I don't irritate anyone with dumb questions. (I've spend the past few days reading as many posts as possible, trying to educate myself.)

I just bought an '03 G35 sedan with 19k miles. It's totally stock with OEM 17" six-spoke wheels. I really like the looks of the OEM 18" 7-spoke wheels and plan on buying a set. However, I've noticed that the front wheels are slightly smaller than the rear (225 vs 245).

Could anyone tell me if placing those wheels on my sedan will cause any problems whatsoever? (i.e. scraping, causing inaccuracy w/speedo, etc.)
If possible, I would not mind having four tires of the same size. If necessary, I will use the staggered setup. ANY info. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you shouldn't have any problems at all. the reason the tires size is different is because of the higher series the 17's have. 18's use 45 series. with the 18's, they staggered the tire sizes. a friends father put his son's oem 18's on his sedan with no problems at all.

btw, what color is your sedan?? i have brand new oem front splash guards in IP finish. make offer.

Thanks for the quick reply. My car is Titanium blue. Just so I understand correctly, you're saying that using the staggered setup should not cause any problems, right? My next concern is not being able to rotate front/rear tires because of the different sizes. Any thoughts...

Do you think it would be possible to have all four tires the same size?

With regard to the OEM splash guards, I am interested but have absolutely no idea what a fair price is.

Only the coupes come stock with the staggered fitment. You shouldn't have any problems running the coupes staggered 18s though. The only problem is that you wouldn't be able to rotate like you mentioned. Why don't you look into the sedan 18s (from 05 & 06 models). I have an 05 and recently purchased the sedan 18" rims used, they come stock with 235/45/18 all around. The rims have a similar design to the coupe's 19s.

Thanks for that explanation, G35HAWAII. I'd much rather have your setup. BTW, I notice you said that the sedan's rims have a "similar" design to the coupe's 19s. What is the difference (in looks) between the two?

Also, does anyone know where I might find a website showing available OEM parts, etc.? I checked on the Infiniti website and was not able to find anything like that.

^ he means the design looks like the oem 19's, but in an 18" package. if you ran the oem 18's, that would also be fine with same size tires all around. the width of the rims are the same.
