Germaines Luau is cool. the hawaiian food is pretty geez. my other half used to dance tahitian there. and yes, Kam Bowl gots the good Oxtail Soup. if i were you, i'd bring the biggest pot with you and fill it up. i do that all the time. a reasonably priced, great tasting japanese buffet is Hakone in the hawaii prince hotel. a great japanese restaurant in waikiki is Kyo-ya. Ruth's Chris steakhouse in Restaurant Row gotsta bomb steak too. The Chart House has awesome oyster rockefeller, and Escargot.

Aloha
i could do some research but feel lazy right now.
might take whole family there end of this year, here're some question for locals:
1-Germaine's Luau...where is their closest hotel pick up spot from Outrigger Waikiki Shore condo?
2-what's the hours for the swap meet?
3-what's the hours for that little open market in China town where they sell fresh meat, seafood, greens ..ect?
4-direction from Waikiki to the nicest stretch of sand in kailua?
5-address for a fruits farm that i can go in there walk around, pick and pay for seasonal fruits (jack fruit,longan,guava,mango..ect...)?
6-some years ago (about 15 if my fading memory serves me correct) i had a GF there (no ****) she took me to a long winding road up up in the mountain where mango and guave trees are wild grew right next to the road, you can stop the car and hand pick them.then we ended up in a spot where you can sit down and over look Waikiki's sky.seeing buildings and ocean.anyone know this secret spot?

2. 8:00 to 3:00
3. 7:00 to 5:00
4. Get on Kalanianaole...all the beaches along that hwy are nice.
5. Dont know about the addresses, but if you're on Kamehameha going towards Turtle Bay..they're all along that stretch. Along with Shrimp Shacks gallore...maybe Baces or Herb can setup a shrimp shack cruise when any of you guys from the mainland come over.
6. Tantalus - but the residents there are retaliating and setting up hazards. Like soap granules, gravel, large branches, etc. I used to take my bike up there a lot, but it's gotten real bad now.

1 - Don't know, sorry.
2 - We talking the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet? Also guys, do we still have the Kam Drive In Swap Meet?
3 - See 636's response for hours. Parking sucks though, bring change and $1 bills.
4 - If you got the time, it's east through Hawaii Kai, Makapuu, Waimanalo, then into Kailua Beach or Lanikai Beach.
5 - Hmmm.....Maui's meets are probably better for buying, and you could probably get fruits at Chinatown or Farmers Market. There isn't too much as far as going out to a farm and picking stuff.
6 - Agreed, it's probably Tantalus. BTW there's a bunch of places with guava & mango trees by the road. In fact one of those bastages dropped a big mango on the hood of my Prelude a couple of years back.
huh? closest hotel pick up?
plan to stay at waikiki shore and go to Germaine's Luau.they offer round trip ride from hotel and back, just wondering where the pick up spot is.i'll call Germaine on this
thanks
