i got my rims in today, used, but advertised as 100% flawless, which i found out there not. they came out of the box, FLITHY! so i washed them, carefully, and the rears are pretty much perfect, but the fronts have hairline scratches all around the outter lip, plus some "mildew" spots. anodized lip, so i don't think theres anything i can really do. is there? i tryed wax, which didn't do anything, but hesitant to used polish, porter cable?
treat them the same way you treat any clear coated surface. sooooo, don't use anything u aint supposed to use on clear coat. you can use a porter cable with polish. just don't go using metal only polish, or sand the clear off.

no tires yet, still desiding what brand, but 245/35, 275/30 is what i'll be getting, and probably BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2.
so we won't be seeing them this sunday.
OK, i just used the PC on them, and the menzerna final polish, hardly did anything, so i tried the intensive polish. and it look out the brown crap, but the most of the hairline scratches are still there. the polish also took of this black stuff, idk what it is, but my pad is all black now, maybe someone before polished the lips before so now there hardly any if any clear coat, am i polishing the bare metal? i'm afraid to polish any more, though i'm sure with a few more passes with the intensive polish, i could get the scratches out, but i already did it 3 times.... from 2 feet back you can't ever see them though..maybe in the sun you can..
probably the seller damage them before, they fixed it but the clear is gone. the little spot is where the acid ate the lip.
sometimes ads even with picture can fool anyone...i bought a set of of used wheels which seller claim "immaculate" condition. when i got them is more like "rotten" condition by my standards. never buy expensive items unless you can see it in person. you probably got rip off.

So is there nothing you can do about scratches on the lip? Reason I ask is cause I got some I'd like to get rid of. I previously thought that you had no other choice but to repolish the lip. Oh by the way what kind of volks you got?
