Outer Island Cars and Recon

Howzit Guys,

Just wondering what is going to happen when the superferry launches and more cars from the outer islands without recon laws hit Oahu roads? Do those people run the risk of getting a ticket even if their car is registered in a different county? Would cops let them go because their from a different county? I don't know if this is a big enough issue, but has there been any news on it?

Would this open the door for a repeal or would this cause other islands to implement the recon law?

other island's will inforce recon laws. A good friend of mine is a safety inspector on Kauai. Supposedely, Recon exists there, but they don't enforce it as much as they do here on Oahu.

i think they should get rid of recon altogether considering that majority of the islands don't have it anyway. easier to get rid of it on one island than implement it on all the other islands. hehe.

true but would you get rid of something that made you thousands maybe millions a year. and the only reason oahu has recon and the other islands don't is due to the high population here, or so I've heard.

Here's a question though. Most of our cars are kinda low (waiting for senjen's burn) well, lower then most cars. Did any of you wonder if you can even make it aboard?

you will not clear the ramp. you have to raise it to stock height (higher if you're running a kit).

I ripped an exhaust off my old car getting on a ferry. Not too pretty. Good luck to the slammed Gs.

probably have to raise it up before you get on, lower it after you get off. but that might be too much work for some. good thing im not lowered "yet" =)
