Tee hee. Couple of notes. I felt like I could feel the 200 or so lbs. of extra heft the car has over the V35 Coupe. I didn't rev it past 4k as it hasn't been broken in yet but the car feels no quicker or slower than my 6MT Sedan. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact that it's about 100 lbs. heavier than our 4 doors.
When I read about the reduction in headroom and rear legroom I was curious to see what it felt like in back. Provided the folks up front aren't too huge and don't have the seats moved all the way back, folks under 6' should be pretty comfortable in the back seats. As for folks 6' in height and taller...forget it. My head touched the glass unless I slouched a bit although this also happens when I get in the back of a V35 Coupe. One feature I did like was the button which slides the seat forward and aft and the seat release latch has been moved to the side of the headrest as opposed to the ones located on the back of the seats in the V35.
For those who have driven an '07 Sedan you'll be very at home in the '08 Coupe as the Sedan's layout carries over into the Coupe. A couple of things did catch my eye though. The Coupe's seats have some very slick double stitching patterns along their seams. Very trick. The clutch and shifter have also been revised for '08 (versus the '07 Sedan). In fact, after having driven some later production '07s recently, it seems that Infiniti made some adjustments to the Sedan 6M/T's clutch and stick midway through the '07 model year. No need to wait until the '08s hit the lots for the revised stick and clutch. Good news for 6M/T buyers everywhere.
On the outside, the car has definitely grown on me. It's a little curvy out back and I definitely prefer the looks of the car when it has the optional Spoiler (the larger non-chrome one) in place. The brakes are massive but I haven't had a chance to sample them yet. Again I don't like beating on cars that are fresh off the boat and haven't been broken in yet. The 19" Sport wheels are dead sexy though. I definitely want a set for my Sedan. If any of you guys buy a 37 (hopefully from me
), let me know if you want to sell your OEM 19s. Hee hee.
Other than that, you folks are just going to have to wait to see and sample the car for yourselves.
Oh, there is one thing that must be said of the G37. The exhaust note is killer. It seriously sounds like a mix between the V35 Coupe and the V36 Sedan. If any of you have heard the '07 HR powered 350Zs, you'll know what I mean. This thing just sounds nasty. It's what the Coupe should have always sounded like. Less boomy, slightly more refined but still music to the ears. You've got to hear this thing.
I apologize for the quality of the pics in advance. They came from my phone.

WOW, it's Finally Here! Nice Pics, Matt. Even though it's from your Phone, LOL. I was supposed to go to the Unvieling for the Coupoe, but was too busy! Sure would like to know if the Coupe Sport Rims would Fit on our 07 Sedans, I think they look hot also! Hope I see one on the road Sometime, want to test out my Sedan against one of those, since the performance is so close it would be all driver, haha.
Matt can you find out when Infinity updated the Trans and Clutch on the Sedans?? you said they updated the Shifter and Clutch to have less Vibrations?? think Mine was Built in Jan 07. And I drove a 6Spd 07 they had on the Lot before my car came in, and that car I test drove had bad Vibrations in the Shifter at Idle! The Stick was jerking back and forth like mad, on my car it harldy moves like that car i Test driver ealier? Wonder If Infinity made those Changes starting on Jan 07 when my car was built?

Dang! That thing looks sweet! Guess you can officially start posting up the 'spy pics' that you gave me a sneak peek of, eh?
Love those brake calipers. I don't know why they don't throw those on the sedans. Are they still made by brembo? Think you could find out if those would fit on the sedan, matt?

Nice write up. At first I thought those pics looked more like the coast off Liberia, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt. Good information to have a "hands on" approach. Now, what can you tell us about the goodies included with this car upon purchase. I know my 03 FX had the pizza box thing with some stuff etc.
P.S. That one is yours isn't it? Make sure no one else snaps it up from this dealer instead dude.

No need to apologize about the quality. You can see plenty with these pics. Thanks for taking them. Also, thanks for the quick right up. I didn't realize the coupe would sit so much lower (stock) than the sedan. I guess it's the emphasis on forward lean causes it to look sooo much lower. I like!
To answer a few questions:
1. It's not my car.
I only drove it because we're PDIing them (pre-delivery inspection) and our head lot tech asked to be dropped off at our other lot down near Shell on Lagoon. I was like "SHOOTS, I'LL TAKE YOU."
2. (808MIKE) I delivered an '07 6M/T the other day that was ordered in June and the stick felt a littler smoother, the clutch a little less springy and the e-brake had less travel. That is the e-brake only comes up about 30 degrees before it's fully engaged whereas it comes up about 60 degrees in my car. I prefer a longer travel e-brake though. This is probably the easiest way to tell if your car was an early production '07 or a later production one with the revised clutch pedal and stick. Just give the e-brake a yank. If it's almost pointed straight up when it's fully engaged, it's an early production '07. There's also a bit less vibration coming through the shifter with the revised trannies as well but the biggest difference and most welcome change is a less springy clutch that's slightly more progressive and doesn't grab as high as it does on our cars.
3. (Hikos_G) The brakes are NOT Brembos but they're fricking huge and 4 piston once again up front. 14" Rotors. Don't know if they fit behind our tiny OEM 18"s on our Sedans but you got your 20" Marions so what you worried about?
Don't know if they'd fit behind your dish though.
4. (sanscu) It's not Liberia. LOL. And again, not my car. I still have and love my 4 door.
5. (MaximaPower) The little hook in the lower front air damn? I'm guessing it's a tie down hook for when the cars are in transit from overseas. Don't worry, we take them off before we put the cars on our lots.
