how do i fix paint on rear fender?
just curious how to fix the paint on my rear fener theres a crap load of nicks in the paint cuz some ***s egged my car the other night and it got cut by one of the eggs in a small circle. theres about 100 small paint chips in that spot though. whole car need to be painted? or just the rear fender?i want it to blend really good so theres no color difference.. any advice appreciated. thx.

I think you can have just the rear fender repainted as long as its a good place and they blend the side. From personal experience and what ive heard JL is the best there is but it aint cheap but since you have IP its probably worth getting it done right.

its right on the edge of the fender. right above the wheel. only reason I brought up full repainting is that I dont want it to look repaired. I want it to look original or at least VERy close.. I heard Jl was good to ill prbly check it out..

it basically depends on how far the color needs to be blended and location...

haha hell yea man. just stupid kids with nothing better to do.. tell me when u goin down for your damage. ill prbly go with you or somethin.. shoots. thx for comin by today dtr.
White pearl is typically not that hard...it's usually the silver/pewters/light metallics that need a lot of room to blend...it really depends on the painter...if he can get a close color match, there's no need to blend...if you take it to a body shop, guarantee they'll charge time to blend door but they might not do it...not only will they charge time to blend door but time to R&I side mirror, door handle and window trim (if applicable).
my guess is that it will need blending...but since you asked how to fix it, here it goes...
1. feather out paint chips with 220 d/a
2. go over the area with 320 d/a and primer that area with a 2k urethane primer
3. sand primer with 320 d/a then 800 wet (block sand and use tracer if you want but not necessary since there's no body filler)
4. scuff quarter panel and door with gray scuff pad then go over with 1500 (blend between rear glass and rear window)
5. after you degrease the car, tape it up (door jambs, wheel openings, plastic tape for window moldings, etc.). make sure you backtape so you don't leave a hard line
6. blow car down and tac it if you want, then shoot 2 coats of color over primer area for coverage then blend out
7. shoot clear.
8. nib/color sand
9. buff when light coat of polish
*that's the gist of it...what makes a good painter is how they tape and buff
**if you want to try central auto body, talk to rory. tell him dennis sent you.
