Run 'Em Hard #15 (2007-12-15) = FAIL

Just got back from the Run 'Em Hard Cruise. Cops went setup a major sting to pinch everyone there. EVERYONE was getting ticketed and their pictures taken. If you got your picture taken apparently you're banned from Costco for a year. The owner is a real dumbf**k. Talk about lost business. MORON. Saw Kin there minus his TSWs and Ings (so sad BTW) and I know he probably got a ticket for no front plate. I was waiting for my brother when all of a sudden I see blue lights. Cops came from every direction. Called my brother to tell him to turn around but was too late. He was right down the street and they pulled him over. Threatened to ground his car but let him off with a few fix it tickets.

As for me, my friend and my stock '07 Sedan.

- Whoa officer, we just came back from "I Am Legend" at Dole. Awesome movie. What's going on here? The cop over there told us to follow those guys.

- Yeah, you two don't look like you're with them. Let 'em through.

- Thanks officer, I ain't driving no Civic...

- *they all chuckle*

...AND YOU WON'T BE MAKING DETECTIVE ANYTIME SOON THERE BUDDY. CHEEEEEEE-HOOOOOOO. Gotta thank the woman next to me for that quick thinking suggestion of hers.

To be honest though, I had no intention of doing anything stupid. Just decided to show up last minute as my brother let me know that there was a cruise. If I had known it was a REH cruise I may have passed as those morons do some stupid s**t sometimes. Perhaps those guys should have taken the rain as a sign to stay home tonight.

So they set up the sting just to ticket people for front plates and crap like that? It wasn't like people were racing in the parking lot right?

Well. I am not surprised! I went to one of these cruzes one time. and some guy's were getting pretty stupid, burning out, racing on the roads, cutting in & out of traffic! They did it to them selves! Then they wonder why the COPS come and give out Tickets!? Some guy's just gotta take it easy and Jus Cruz um. None of this we go rum um... see what we can do. then the Innocent peeps on the street call da cops. and they plan to buss everyone like this cruz. No more going to these kinds of cruzes, just looking for cops trouble. I mean I used to be like that, but not anymore. just not worth it sometimes.

I don't get it. How can they give you a ticket for a license plate mounted safety check bracket? That's the dumbest f**king s**t I've ever heard. Who gives a f**k where it's mounted? So you can drill a hole in the bottom of your bumper and mount your safety and recon under the bumper but you can't mount it next to your plate? Stupidest crap I've ever heard of in my life.

Being the devils advocate...

I think Costco had every right to do what they did. Although the premises is open to the public, it is still public property and should not be taken advantage of. You can't just go on to a commercial property and do something of different interest. Maybe if Run'em hard had asked the Costco property manager to use the grounds to meet instead of just making a public announcement to meet there...things might have been different. ie. the R/C guys that meet up there on Wed nights play in the parking lot..they asked the property management before just going there. Same goes with the Paradise Cruisers that meet up at Home Depot in Kapolei. They have an agreement. I dont think Costco and Run'em Hard had an agreement.

As for a sting against the Run'em Hard guys...I say good for them. Everyone should know the consequences of being around that group, and the stigma and association behind them. Pretty sucky that your brother had to learn the hard way.

Yeah i agree its a stupid law. Wouldnt it be EASIER for a cop to look at a license plate and see the safety check right next to it instead of having to look in two different places for the two? I couldnt get safety check last year for a while cause I had it under my license plate whereas it has to be to the bottom and right of it at least a certain distance away...or something like that. I can see why they have many of the laws they do and im glad they enforce things as opposed to letting people just run rampant and get away with whatever but laws like this one leave me scratching my head.

Um yeah that safety check plate is the dumbest law ever. And for the record you can't put it under you plate either. How do I know cause thats where mines is and I got a $70 ticket for it. Supposedly it supposed to be on the right hand side. The recon ticket I got at the same time, I can understand that and won't contest that law, but come on 70 bucks for a mislocation of the saftey check plate. Give me a break!!!

Why not just stick it on the bumper? I've got mine on the very bottom of the bumper next to the plate. I didn't want to add a little metal tag to the bottom. It's not like anyone's moving anytime soon right? Every year I've gotten a new one and the guy just peels the old one off and puts the new one on.
