things I would question to gain identity through symbolism. its how I design for architecture, I think it should be no different I designing a sticker.
as a G35 enthusiast, why would you promote the forums? I know its place to conglomerate, but why? the 350Z guys don't do it...and I believe its going in the right direction. The old G sticker was descrete ,but, very eye catching. Possibly because it resembles the 'G' in Gran Turismo Maybe David (XLR8N) might have an image of it.
there is also the genre of people the infiniti/nissan are (were?) after. it pertains to a more sophisticated group the demand more than just performance; take it any way you want: classy, VIP, watevers. I think the text font should resemble that message.
There was also something regarding the brush strokes of the G35 silouette.
Now regarding the Hawaii identiy, I thought the hieroglyphic one resembled Hawaii best. Maybe someone can research a band that resembles hawaiian monarchy, or even a backdrop of Kamehameha's helmet. The island chain is a good start...but for some reason, it makes things look unbalanced.

Yeeeeeah. I remember that one pretty well.
Biggest reason I can see for putting G35Driver on the sticker, it's the forum responsible for bringing us together in the first place. I don't see it as promoting the boards, just recognizing it. Without the boards I doubt many of us would have ever met. I do think that the G35Driver tag could be smaller though instead of filling the entire space beneath the brushstroke G. I say silhouette + small island chain + small G35Driver.com = perfect. It represents love for the car, representation of Hawaii and respect for the boards in that order. No need to get all native with Hawaiian history. This is a car sticker, not a Kau Inoa T-shirt.
I'll fool around with these images and try to contribute something over the weekend.
