We'll most likely have a pre-meet before the main meet up so everyone can mingle and check out each others cars before we roll out. The details are below. Shoot me a PM or post it here directly if you have any questions.

Toys for Tots Main Event: November 28th, 2009
Meet Spot: Kapolei KMart
Time: 1030am
Drivers Meeting: 11:15am
Rollout: 1130

We will be cruising from Kapolei to Kaneohe Marine Corps Base (Routes TBA). We have a time frame from 12-3pm to get into the gate but I recommend we get there as early as possible.

I say this because this year, instead of just dropping off the Toy's, the commander of the marine base would like to give back to all participating clubs by allowing a "Show & Shine" during the event to show off each and every club. There will be games, food and prizes that will go toward the kids we're sponsoring.

Raffle and Prizes: Each driver dropping off a toy will be issued a raffle ticket for prizes that each club is responsible to bring - let me explain. Each club will donate one (not limited to) raffle prize which will be raffled amongst the other clubs. We can do shirts, gas cards, car parts, discounts, Zippy's Chilli Tickets, whatever you like! just something fun for our fellow car enthusiasts.

They're trying to get the word out to as many clubs as possible so if you know any, please let them know; I can give you the coordinator's contact info. I will be talking to the G Club and posting this in their forums as well.

Bottom Line: I think this is gonna be a great event this year, and according to Toy's for Tot's we're the largest contributing fund of toys for Hawaii. Last year, we brought it over 250 cars with over 300 toys.

We're doing this for the kids, I think they all deserve it. Who's in??

the link says november 28th which is on a saturday. this sounds like fun, never went to an official cruise w/ you G guys. we'll see what happens.

Also, is the Kmart parking lot set for the meet up spot? Just asking because thats a nuts weekend for shopper due to all the after Thanksgiving sales madness. Pretty sure that lot will be full that day.
How about on the other side where Target is? Way bigger parking lot. Just a thought.

 

good point...I'm talking to the coordinator of the event but he said its really hard to find a nice open parking lot to house 300+ cars. Unless you guys got hook ups with huge parking lots, let me know.

I got a call from the person in charge of Toys for Tots and apparently there was a unanimous decision to change the main meet spot from kapolei Kmart to Keehi Lagoon due to holiday shopping (Near the airport).

The meet up time at Keehi Lagoon is 10:30, but after a few conversations with some people, it might be cramp and slightly hard to get in (speed bumps) so we want to make sure we get there early and allow us time to get in and get settled. I believe we met at 9am last year, and rolled to Kmart at 930.

We're thinking of meeting at the NEX parking lot at 9am for the Pre-meet and rolling at around ~945am or so.

Open to any other suggestion you guys may have.

I want to make sure everyone is square about what's going on this weekend.

Pre-meet:
Meet Spot: NEX Parking Lot (Commissary side, corner near the back entrance)
Time: 9am
Roll Out to Keehi Lagoon: 945am

Please if you haven't already, purchase your toys! You technically won't have any time after Wednesday. Thursday is Thanksgiving, and I'm sure you won't be shopping for "kids" toys on Black Friday.....more so trying to grab deals on those big screen TV's!! ...and Saturday, well that's toys for tots.
