04 G prices at King
04 G prices at King
howzit guys, I'm brand new to this forum and I am thinking about buying a 04 G. I am currently deployed in lovely Iraq right now, but am coming home for two weeks soon. Anyway my wife needs a new car so I told her we could get the G while I am home. Just wanted to know if King was easing up on their dealer mark-ups any. If anyone can give some feed-back it would be much appreciated.

oops- hit wrong button
i would contact dealership in advance- tell them you are on leave and have limited time to dicker and don't want to pay more than MSRP
i would hope that in respect for your time served in harm's way, they wouldn't give you too much hassles
mahalo for your service to our country

I got mine at MSRP (don't tell them, hey someone got theirs at MSRP).
Just make sure they know that you will not pay more than MSRP (for the coupe). I think you can probably get them down even more for the sedan.
If they keep giving you the sob story about there not being enough of a separation in price between the Maxima/Altima/350Z let them know that the price is being set by the manufacturer so too bad. Also realize that the 2005s are coming out shortly, so with the bumpup in hp and other changes these guys should be looking to hold MSRP, not increase it.
The most powerful tool you have is to make it known that if you do not like the price you will walk....funny how that makes the price go down.
Good luck.

Yeah, go see Richard. He's the one who hooked me up and he does good business. Nice guy too, real easy to talk to. Also, equally as important, he'll be the guy you need to know when you start modding your car. He has a wealth of knowledge that he's more than willing to share with you. Obviously he doesn't charge for his opinions or his time, so to "compensate" him for his future time and help, buy through him.

i couldnt get mines at msrp...i tried, and tried hard for three hours. they wouldnt budge. i got mines for about a grand over msrp (they were asking about 2500 over msrp but i had them lower it). but that's for me, might be different for you. then again, no body told me to see richard.

Yeah, ask for a guy named Richard Crabbe (he's asian and I think there's another guy named Richard too). Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT go to anyone else because they'll likely rip you off.
As someone who's been burned real bad at a dealership, I'm a little distrustful of dealers. But Richard's really cool and he's the only guy who took the time to show me the car and explain all the little details and why they're important... like why Infiniti put the ABS accuators in the back of the double-bulkheads (for better reliabilty), why there's a solid aluminum beam inside the front bumper (better crash protection), and why the car battery's way in back (to protect it from the engine's heat). He lives, eats, and breathes G35s and he's absolutely passionate about these cars. What's more, he's not trying to necessarily sell you the car, just educate you so you can make an informed decision.
When I went on a test drive of a '04 TL, I was almost sold, but was turned off by the salesguy who kept dissing the G35 as 'cheap.' Richard will tell you the pluses and minuses of the G so you can make a more informed decision. If you tell them that I sent you ("the guy who got ripped off by Tony Nissan"), maybe you can get an '04 G35 for BELOW msrp. Just keep in mind that the '05s are coming out, with more horsepower and better interiors. This should sweeten the deal.
Good luck!

Unless you know someone at the dealership on a personal basis...there's likely to be no markup. I know one of the sales ladies and one of the techs there.
I kinda know Richard...the one that went in for surgury for his leg. I remember him from racing in SCCA. The SCCA field is rather big, so it took a while for us to remember who we were and what class we raced in. I know Rachael because I used to work with her Dad at Tony Honda, back when Tony Honda was at Pearl Ridge. Aaron, one of their techs, is one of my good friends, back when the "Import Culture" just boomed. Everyone knew him by his distinct Toyota Turbo pickup.
