Talking New owner finally saying hello.

Hey all...

We'll i've been lurking for waaay too long and it's finally time to say hello. I finally picked up my 05 6MT Coupe Blk/Blk, Premium, Aero Package yesterday. I've literally waited 1 year to pickup this car lol...

In the begining of 04 I was going to purchase the G but decided to wait because of the new changes and I didn't mind because I still loved my old car, I think senjen can back me up on this! =P I still have both cars for now tho until I can find a good home for her. Anyhow, I'm so trilled after reading the forums for soo long hahaha...

Funny thing is it took me a while to get used to 6th gear lol... cruizing on the highway i'd still be in fifth, then think oh yeah I have a 6th gear now. Also getting used to the push down to go into reverse was confusing... Mainly because 6th gear is usually where reverse is for my Lude.

Also i'm pretty supprised how stiff the suspension is, it sorta feels like my old cars setup. But I think it has alot to do with the 19" and low profile tires on it.

Audio system is actually decent, other then the Bass and Trebble settings always reverting back to low (even tho it displays +5) when you turn off the car. MP3's play great, it's a decent setup for a stock system, but I'd like a little bit more info displayed about the track.

Interior is nice, I liked the old setup but I like the new setup more. I'm still trying to find the right seating position. One question tho in the 03-04 Coupe 6MT is the big cup holder IN the arm rest? I'm not so sure how soft the new softer leather is supposed to be.

Shift light is a neat add on especially to make sure your rev's are down during break in. I don't like "REV" displayed in the tach, but I still need to read throught the manual to see if it can be disabled or disapears.

Power is pretty overwhelming it feels fast even at 3.5k and there's power in pretty much all gears. No real need to shift to 5th from 6th to pass. I can finally feel the power that you all been driving around for 1-2 years lol.

Also anyone find a wide view mirror that can fit over the Homelink/dimming mirror? I might just keep it as is, because of the dimming function, which is pretty neat the first time I saw it at night. But I'd still like a wide view mirror so I can see a wider FOV.

Buying the car was a pretty good process... I didn't get what I was hoping for but it' was hard to get a good deal because of the first of the year and model changes and looking at the order sheet it didnt seem like there was that many 6MT's comming in for the first 2 months. Well the car arrived 2-3 weeks late, But overall I was satisfied because I did get it under MSRP, maybe I should have talked to Richard but I just went with my gut feelings on this one.

Now I just have to get my Clear Bra, Tint and misc parts then i'll be all set for now.

Anyhow, another happy owner signing off...

Andrew

It was about 10 days ago I think... But I was in my Lude, I just remember it was pouring that day and you were driving under nimitz on to the freeway.
