2006 Lexus IS 250/350
2006 Lexus IS 250/350
Okay, just as a disclaimer, not selling out on the G or anything, but the new Lexus IS was unveiled today in Geneva, Switzerland. Supposedly the car will be offered in 2.5L and 3.5L V6s, with the latter reportedly at 300-315hp. Official US-specs to be released at New York auto show at the ending of March.
IMO, this car looks WAY better than the GS300/430, with most of the same features/options, but still retains smallish dimensions.

March 1, 2005 - Geneva, Switzerland
Dubbed the "The Next IS", the all new 2006 model IS was finally unveiled to the world at the 75th Annual 2005 Geneva Motor Show. The IS250 2.5L Direct Injection Dual VVT-i will officially debut in late March in New York. New to the IS, a first for Lexus and an exclusive for Europe is the IS220d which features a 2.2L 4cyl Direct Injection Diesel.
The New IS shares it's styling cues from it's bigger brother the New 2006 GS which has finally made it's official American release today. The all New IS and GS share a new design theme called the "L-Finesse" which is Lexus' new direction aimed to be the global premium brand for the 21st Century.
Quote: "NEW LEXUS IS" - Lexus Europe
The new Lexus is 90 mm longer and 75 mm wider than its predecessor. Its wide track and prominent wheel arches combine with short front and rear overhangs to give the car a low centre of gravity and broad, robust appearance, appropriate to its sporting prow-ness.
To the front, a trademark, vertically latticed grille instantly identifies the new IS as a sporting member of the Lexus marque. As first demonstrated on the LF-S concept vehicle, the aggressive, twin-barrel headlamp clusters are positioned on a higher plane than the grille itself. This carefully considered disposition of the key frontal elements will become a unique characteristic of future Lexus models, focusing the eye at the very apex of the vehicle to strengthen the impression of speed and agility.

Tech specs look very promising...
Looks, i'm not to sure about tho. It kinda reminds me of a mazda now, it dosent have that distictive look that it had with the current body.
The rear just looks wrong, and IMHO the front is a little too slanted. Now that I think about it, the tail lights remind me of the BMW 5 series but not put together as well as the BMW...
Overall i'd say tech part of the vehicle was a great move, but not so sure on styling maybe i'll grow on me, who knows.

it's got features an X5 from '02 has. the body looks like a blown shape of a Scion TC. i think the interior looks cheesy. check out my replies on forumshawaii. i'm not interested. it's not ugly or anything. ^ i agree with mista Frostya on the tech parts.
