Hahah... I went by Infiniti to pickup my front plate assembly and a bulb because my passenger light went out. So I pickup my plate no problem and I was asking the service guy if they had light bulbs in stock. He says oh um lemme check you in for warranty repair lol... 30 minutes later I have a washed car and a new light bulb lol...
Also that new coffee machine they have there is awesome... I had two cups and so did the other customers that were there. (heheh they were also ravin about the new coffee)
I thought i'd post this because Infiniti called me today to see if everything was ok, so I told the lady, why yes they changed my light bulb very well!
It's nice to have a good service department.

Anyone had any problems going in there with aftermarket mods? Have they said anything? Or any problems with warranty claims due to aftermarket parts?
Thanks

When you bought your car, didn't you sign a little slip of paper saying that you are responsible for any problems dealing with aftermarket mods on your car? It also said that if you think the problem was still a warranty issue, the driver has to *prove* that it is not the aftermarket mod that caused the problem.
Brian (head of Service Dept. at IoH) is a really nice guy but the company line is to be aftermarket mod UN-friendly. I speak from experience...

when i had service done, i didn't get an '05 loaner! ASAO, you're lucky!
I believe that it is quite the opposite. The company (Infiniti of Honolulu) has to prove to you that the part you put on has caused the failure, or was the point of failure. Other wise they can not just void the warranty.
This topic has been beaten to death though. If you the owner decide to add on after market parts...you have to go into it with the knowledge that it may cause problems and that the service department techs may not have the training to fix those issues. Thus the potential void of the warranty. You as the owner though, have certain rights..within reason.
Infiniti has to protect themselves...but at the same time..they are obligated to service your vehicle within the range and limitations of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.
Read the article and understand the implications of adding aftermarket parts to your vechicle. Addition of high performance parts comes with a little bit of responsibility on your part as well though.

As much as there are other possible issues that we can not control.....for the most part....we just have to be resposible for the actions that we choose to take. Can't blame others for something that we choose to change or remove. If that is not something that you can be comfortable with....then simply, dont do it. Buy another beater car to experiment with.

no complaints regarding service.
my girlfriend and i have offered those at infiniti that helped us to come to spectate our Drift Session events (drifting, time attack) at no charge as a token of gratitude towards them.

But I already knew all that.
As many people have found out, some dealerships are mod-friendly, and some are mod-unfriendly. Some are neutral in the whole thing. What I was asking, is if Infiniti of Honolulu is mod friendly or not, and if anyone has had any experiences with them regarding this, or other warranty type issues. I'm not asking for debate on the whole aftermarket/car modification thing, or a reference to the law, merely asking for peoples experience with Infiniti of Honolu regarding this.
As I mentioned when I bought my G from them, I had a great experience, and the salesman was excellent. I am hoping that any further dealins also turn out this way, but I would like to know beforehand whether to expect difficulties with mods or not.
Thanks
Dave
