Service @ the Dealer

What's happening with Infiniti's service man... I've been trying to reach the service advisors since the beginning of this month just to get an oil change, but they are never at their desk. When you do leave a message they don't ever call back... that's it...

I'm going to head down there today to see what's happening... I should have never got that dumb oil change thing that they give up to 10,000 miles or something like that... with the rotate and all...

I think it's because there are only 2 service advisors (maybe 3 now) and maybe 10 bays to work on cars. With the amount of Infiniti's on Oahu, that doesn't leave much room to handle everyone. If you go down during the day and see what the service advisors are doing, you'll notice that they are running around. A buddy of mine is 1 of them and I swear that his phone must've rang like 10 times in a row (maybe the same person) while he was chatting with me for like 3 minutes, but also looking up the service and parts for another caller on hold. He said that there is just too many calls, not enough time. That's not an excuse and I will mention this to him the next time I see him. Drive safe.

I agree, not enough capacity. When I had tried to make my appointment to change my oil, I had to wait 3 weeks for an open spot. With the amount of demand for the servicing of the cars, IoH needs to make sure they can do the work.

I made sure on a survey sent to me that I let Infiniti know exactly that.........if there's only one authorized Infiniti dealership in the state, they either better be up to the service requirements of their patrons, or allow another dealership to be bought in the state of Hawaii.

3 week wait for oil change......how long do you think it would be for a more serious problem? I hate to even think about it.

dunno how you going rotate directional tires with staggering.
I never go to the dealer unless it's a warranty or TSB issue. Stuff like maintenance routine issues such as fluid changes, upgrades and replacements due to wear and tear...I'll do them myself.

Change out the oil and oil filter yourself, it's just sets productive time between you and your car, and builds character and saves you money. Even if I werent blessed with my Dad working at Tony Honda Service, with access to all his tools, I have my own tools at home to do the job. bigger stuff like changing out brake pads and cutting the brake rotor, or replacing my tires; I'd have to go and take it to my Dad's shop.

I've never had a problem with Service on the 3 times I've taken the car in. Jason Tokunaga and the rest of the Service Team are top notch, IMO.

^ yeah, no need for rotating. the service advisor i always speak to is Jason T. he's on top of things. he never returned my messages once, but i just called again and he answered.

dude, change your oil on your own. you go to tracks often now, swap out the crap oil for some good one.

Yup, I'll change my own oil, which is acutally coming up fast. I think they charge like $39.99 or something? Even though my buddy can plug me in, I'll leave IoH to do the major stuffs, oil I can do. Plus I can make sure I put cheap Mobil1 synthetic. Royal Purple is 2 darn expensive, even for my G, although I have 6 qts lying around at home. Later.

mobil 1 is what i prefer over Royal Purple. ask 636racer for some details on why. actually, i'd go with Amsoil instead of mobil 1, but i can't afford it.

Amsoil, true that. I remember using that stuff in my Elite Dio moped, 2 stroke of course. I'm glad that others like Mobil1 syn. The Royal Pruple I got for free so it doesn't hurt me if I don't use it. Sorry for going off thread. Later.

nah guys... it's all good... jason is the guy I see also... well I went down there asking him what's up... but told me that they were having some kind of problem didn't really pay any attention after that... But they took my car in yesterday...

and no... they don't rotate my aftermarket rims... I usually take them off... with the stocks... they take the tires of the rims and flip em... I remember they did that once.. because when I got the car back... the side with the tire dressing was on the inside... oh well... it's all good...

I'm only taking my car to the dealer because I still have the oil change booklet they gave me when I bought the car... so I'm just making use of it... plus I only have like 7000 miles... and according to some guys on the boards... it's better to use synthetic like after 10000-15000, right?

it really depends on how you break in the car.
the faster and harder you break in your car, you can switch over to synthetic as soon as 5k.
but if you were doing the gradual break in, then 10k would be ideal.
