Nissan clubs comm. service. special olympics

Hey guys,
I know this is last minute, but do you guys think we could organize a service project in 9 days? i saw that special olympics is still looking for lots of volunteers. it would be nice if we could get a small group out to help. post your comments. i was thinking that sunday would be easiest for most people.

Thank you very much for your interest in Special Olympics! We’d love to have you and the Nissan Car Club join us…. We really need a lot of help!
Here are some of the positions still open:
On Friday, May 27:

SOfit

10-3:30pm (60 positions open)

This is an event where our athletes will undergo numerous physical fitness tests, such as arm hangs, push ups, etc. Assistance is needed with athlete escorting, registration and test administering.

Set Up
6:30am-3pm (9 positions open)
2:30-10pm (7 positions open)
4pm-10pm (10 positions open)

Security
8am-3pm (5 positions open)
3pm-10pm (6 positions open)
9pm-2am (2 positions open)
2am-7am (2 positions open)

On Saturday, May 28:
Set Up
6:30am-3pm (9 positions open)
2:30-10pm (7 positions open)
4pm-10pm (10 positions open)

Security
8am-3pm (8 positions open)
3pm-10pm (10 positions open)
9pm-2am (2 positions open)
2am-7am (2 positions open)

Healthy Athlete
11:45am – 4pm (20 positions)
This is an event where our athletes will undergo numerous medical tests, such as dental, vision, hearing, etc. Assistance is needed with athlete escorting, registration.

Hospitality / Runners
12:15pm – 5pm (10 positions)
Set up volunteer hospitality area, prepare/serve refreshments, run refreshments out to various venues

On Sunday, May 29:
Security
7:30am-2pm (10 positions open)

Hospitality / Runners
8am – 12pm (9 positions)
Set up volunteer hospitality area, prepare/serve refreshments, run refreshments out to various venues

Also, if any has their CDL, we need 2 drivers on Tuesday (8-4pm), Friday (8-4pm) and Sunday (9-6pm).

A complete listing of all positions still available can be viewed on our website at www.specialolympicshawaii.org. I’ve also attached a group registration form. Once you all are confirmed, please fill it out and email it back to me at volunteers@specialolympicshawaii.org.

Its rather "funny" and disappointing that after 23 views there has not been a single reply to this thread. Not to mention that if the poster was to write something to the effect of "meet a hot girl at a special event" there would be something in the vacinity of.........lets see...something like at least 17 replies and something like 389 views.

Come on guys. A another guys asks for help or at least an opinion if we can do this or not...at least respond to something like this that is actually productive and important to the community.

I hope that people at least sent in a reply via PM or to the e-mail specified of: kealii@hawaii.rr.com

For the record....yes I did respond directly to the person in regards to his request.

Actually, it does sound really good! I was planning on going down w/ my GF and help out! But, just found out today I gotta work some OT on Sunday! Most definitely!Things like this are great! I think our club should get involved with more of the community and special projects! Why just....take take take..when you can give give give! Allllright!!!!

sounds like a good idea. I have two full time jobs though...so I might not be able to help out. ...gotta find out when I work on Sunday.
