Angry I've had it.

So........I've had it with the shop that is doing the install of my TT. I was finally told last week after much begging, pleading, and demanding that my car would be finished no later than today. I scheduled last week Friday the pick up of all my extra parts today. I find out today, not more than one hour ago, that the shop is closed. I was never informed of the closure and only found out when I called them and got a message, they never called me.

I warned them that if I didn't get some action on the completion of my car that I was going to pull it. I am done with being yanked around, if I don't see my car tomorrow in it's fully operating glory, I'm going to pull it.

I've been debating posting this for a long time since I wanted to give the shop in question the opportunity to do right by me.

I understand that since I'm the first to install this particular TT kit in Hawaii that there would have been issues to deal with, but I haven't seen my car in over two months and I'm getting yanked around every single week. Not good when; (1) I've been promised the world, (2) in good faith dropped my deposit in for the materials in early July, and (3) have completed payment on all of my materials in early October.

I need your folks input. If I don't see my car in a suitable operating condition tomorrow, I'm going to yank it and put it on top of a car carrier. From there it's a matter of finding a shop to check the work of the previous shop and assure that everything that is installed so far is OK, and to complete whatever gauge & TT installation needs to be done.

My question to you guys is who would you trust with your cars to check and complete all the work? I cannot put a price on what your input means to me.

Thank you,
Kurt

i talked to ryan at speedgear, he told me that when they installed their first aps kit on a z they ran into many problems. He quoted the z owner a total of XX hours, and he said it ran into 4 times as many hours to complete. he told me that none of the parts fit right. i was thinking that aps had the safest kit for stock-blocked vq's, but after hearing this, the aps isn't even a dream anymore.
do what you gotta do though kurt, i don't know of any other shop that can do a great job here. i think a good 99.9% of APS kits are installed by mainland shops. if you can afford to ship it out, that would be my suggestion.

i know EXACTLY how you feel! been thru a similar situation with my past car. any way you could finish the install yourself? tt's and downpipe's already in? think that would pretty much be the hardest part. not sure if switching shops would be a good idea....might be more of a headache in the long run. like missing parts or other probs. youll probably have to go back to the first shop....know what i mean? id say wait it out a lil while more. either way...good luck! i feel your pain and frustration!!

Hey Kurt, sorry to hear that. This is why I do things myself. There's a few shops I could reccomend, but they're also backed up with other peoples cars. Namely Niztech and Endless garage. More so with Niztech becuase Steve Oliberos knows his Nissans. Also, if you come to Super Lap this weekend, I can introduce you to Mike Ward, who has a Power Enterprise TT kit...you can inquire with him. You can also check with Sean at MunkyWurks. I've never met anyone so **** about quality work.

How much is there left to install, anything mechanical, electrical I can help you install at your place, as for tuning...you'd have to inquire with some one from APS or a reputable local tuner, like Justin Izumi.

If you want to take legal matters, call on Action Line and expose them. I know someone who works for KITV who can probably help.

I hope all goes well for you. Let me know if you need me to help you out with anything, I'll try my best at assiting you.

^ yeah, it is.

dayam Kurt, i'm sorry you have to go through this. don't feel too bad though. my friends twin turbo JDM motor w/6 speed trans IS300 took 2.5years! it's 800+hp though. 3 shops fawked him over. he did however take legal action. it sucks, but something had to be done.

i can't believe Revolution Motorsports is like this. i know them for being so true. idk, i think they must have new emps or something. i can honestly say, you have to expect run arounds about completion time. as you've stated, your coupe is the 1st in the 808, and the shop has never touched it before.

who would i trust? imho, i'd take it to either Endless (i don't think they've touched an APS either though; they have the fastest/baddest cars in the 808 though), or Ramon at Hi-Pace Racing. why Hi-Pace? imo, Ramon will make sure everything is done according to "APS." he can't afford to get slammed with court papers. the "scene" is his True Passion in life. they may take long too, but they make sure your vehicle is Done.

just my thoughts.

best bet would take your car to VAKAMON... they are the shop down there that is really familiar with our VQ motor... I think they recently installed another APS kit on a 350Z... and it's running and it also has seen the track... not sure what kind of numbers he was laying down though...

PULL it! My TT kit was intalled in 5 days and I was bitchin' them out because they promised to get it done in 2.

Even if you take your time installing it, it shouldn't take more than 5-7 days to get it done.

Oh yeah, I recommend pulling the motor out! I will save you atleast a day of installation.

Hey guys I really appreciate your feedback.

.....let's see, where to start?

I have been told that the car is nearly complete for weeks on end. One week its "there's only one part left" and the next week it's "well we only have to do this..." (and it's a different part).

I've been told the car is almost done, then this side has been pulled, for so many weeks in a row that I don't know what's truth and what's not.

Yes I did anticipate issues with the install, I just feel that any competent shop would inventory all the parts, go through all the installation instructions, and deal with the manufacturer's techincal staff before any installation begins.

I've been told that the original mechanic couldn't finish due to family issues (an emergency with his dad) and that they are on at least the second guys after the first, in other words it's in the hands of the 3rd set of people. The 3rd set of guys have supposedly had my car since November 22nd!!!! Considering the install shouldn't take longer than one week, I'm a bit disturbed since I think that 3 G's could have had TT kits installed within this time.

I will take all your comments under consideration. Once again thank you for your help.

Kurt

I finally found out where Mike Ward got his car worked on, it's Sonic Motorsports. he was sporting graphics at our last time attack event on saterday, I think he was doing the HIN too..I dunno. If you go there, ask for Elliot, tell him you know me and he'll take care of you.
