New Years in Honolulu

I'm gonna be there over new years (without my g unfortunately), just wondering if there's anything you guys would recommend for new years eve? Also, if there is anything really cool to do or see there, or any good hookups on food, etc. that most tourists arn't aware of, i would appreciate the info.
thanx.

fireworks everywhere. hit up tantalus and check out the views over manoa. or over atop pacific palisades. there's usually a lot of firework displays...ala moana, waikiki, schofield barracks.

parties? pipeline and oceans are the more poplular ones, theres other places too. I dont go out much..thats the sen_jen question.

haha, lol! new year's eve in hawaii....Fireworks are the "in thing." it's traditional here in the 808. as far as parties/clubs go....your best bet would be to hit up Ocean's in Restaurant Row. keep in mind the line will be SUPER! another good club to check out is Fashion 45 in Wakiki Trade Center. there are many others, but i feel these would be more positive in terms of "aloha spirit." i'll keep replying to this post, as many of my friends are either owners/1/2 owners/dj's at many clubs.

as far as Hawaiian food, i second the vote for Ono's. The local guy that serves the food is very helpful if you need tips on how to eat the various dishes. it's more fun if you have 4+ people-- then you can order more stuff and share. they only take cash tho. i'm pretty sure that there's a Tesoro gas station right across from it.

for new year's eve, if you're an old fut like me, maybe a concert by Natalie Cole would interest you?

many years ago i went to a rave in Waikiki Trade Center... IMO, it wasn't too exciting, just a bunch of teens waving glo sticks trippin on e.
