I am located at Kahala and I just turned 18 a week after I got my G.

I was planning to get either a sc and tt. If I can get enough by end of this year I wanted to try and get a AEBS Stroker. I'm considering tt more though it's alot let cheaper than the aebs.

I was hoping to try and get 500-700 hp out of my g. hopefully.

My options were
Stillen or Vortech SC
Greddy TT
or AEBS(this is an iffy)

MY g is completely stock and basic model. Nothing has been done. I'm planning to tint but I dunno where a good and reliable tint company is. I want the racing tint that looks darker than it actually is. I think it was elit tinting but I don't know. I just ordered some skyline kickplates and emblems because I want it to look jdm. trying to do some small cosmetic works.

Thats about it for now.

Thanks for the welcome.

dod gam, i'm jealous!! you're young as fawk, and plan to boost it like crazy!!!

500 - 700 hp requires a lot more than just a TT. the Stillen will not get you there reliably. i would scratch that kit from the list. the greddy tt is great, but that alone Tuned can possibly yield you in the 400+ range (reliable tuner from the states would work best). personally, i'd go the AEBS route just because it's AEBS, and no one has done it yet. another would be JUN. but, the JUN is more expensive than the AEBS. anything over 400whp on a stock motor g is dangerous for daily driver.

what is your budget?? sounds to me like you're spoiled (i don't mean to be offensive), and you're lucky!!! right on's!

TINT....likewise with skylar on this. i'm gonna recommend AL's Tinting, or Special T Tinting across HCC. see Brandon. Special T's # is: 841.9077

AUTOBODY.....pm me if you plan to do a body kit, or custom paint for more 411.

Good Luck new G35 Baller.

Welcom man...

So far the only shop that has sucessfully built the G35 ground up is Sonic Motorsports. They have Time Attack and current HRP shortcourse record holding G35 with all the bells and whistles, namely the power enterprise TT kit. They've also finished building another VQ35DE to handle more boost. They have also just finished installing a Greddy TT kit on a 350Z and undergoing tuning this Saterday on the Hypersports Dyno. HiPace and MunkyWurks are great for finding a lot of hard to find JDM stuff, but when it comes to shop work...Sonics has definetly got the touch. IMO, they're way more thorough than the highly acclaimed shops like Vakamon or even Hypersports. Just ask beangrower about Vakamons Turbonetics install on his car...nothing but complaints. LMK if you wanna hook up with Sonics, I can set you up with a referral.

Well......congrats on the purchase.

In regards to your concerns....I would leave out the AEBS stroker kit. There has been too many issues with ECU compatibility, valve train issues....and others. **edit** (LOL...sorry Sen Jen..didnt mean to contradict you....I was still writting when like 3 of you guys already posted... ) 500-700 wHP from the G in regards to everyday driving....well....its going to be overkill really. Looking at the numbers and the road conditions......400-500 might be MORE than enough already. Anymore and you will be needing another car for the rainy weather times. Not to mention...the octane rating that we have here in Hawaii....92 at best and now mixed with Ethanol. Race gas is like 7+ dollars per gallon.....and running higher boost will make it neccessary to run higher octane to reduce chance of engine detonation.

Considering our location here and who is available to tune the engine management systems here....well, I have come to this conclusion. Just get an upgraded long block from one of the reputable companies in the mainland...hopefully in the West coast (saves $$ in shipping), then get a decent turbo kit with a simple and complete e-manage unit.

It looks like the Turbonetics single kit performs relatively well, and the ECU system straight forward. The JWT might be another decent kit to get as well. Granted, you will be putting down something like 380-400 wHP...but to get any more will require a better tuner and potential detonation issues if not tuned correctly. Greddy is a kick butt kit BUT you WILL need a good tuner to get that thing to function properly without blowing your engine, that e-manage unit that comes with it, is not the best.

To get 700 wHP out of your G in a safe manner WILL cost you more than 25K easy...and it will be a little difficult running that car on the street safely. Like I mentioned, you have to think about the environment that you are in and the road conditions. We have crappy roads and constantly wet weather....go figure. Bragging rights are cool....but practically wise....well.....400-450 wHP is MORE than enough. That will be more HP TO THE GROUND than a V-10 Viper. And that car has SERIOUS traction issues on 345/30 tires!! And its the same weight as our car but longer and more stable.

Putting in more money than say 20K already begs to ask if you actually bought the right car for your tastes. Meaning that you would not buy a 20K Neon SRT-4...then spend an additional 20-30K in making the car faster right?

Anyhow, set a practical limit on the total costs to upgrade the car for the boost...then go from there. You will have to pay for not only the turbos and upgraded engine...but also the management system, return fuel lines, oil cooler, upgraded radiator, intercooler, clutch, flywheel, oil pan spacer, at least 3 guages (EGT, boost, and oil temp), boost controller, turbo timer, and install costs. Yes you can do these things all in increments...but depending how long between each change...it might not really matter. Engine damage could have already occured. Things all work in sync with each other.

I have been doing a lot of research and this is going to cost you...assuming that you want to do it right the first time.

Not to rain on your parade....sorry, but adding boost to a N/A car is expensive. But if you do it right....it will only have to be done once hopefully. This is what I have found and am looking deep into as well. I dont want to just drop 6K into a stock motor just to say that I have a boosted G....I want to make sure that everything will still work 50-60K miles down the road, and under hard conditions as well.

Best of luck and have fun. Drive safe and enjoy the ride.

18 yrs old with a G35 and planning to TT. God DAYAM I'm jealous...When I was 18 I had a 1990 Honda civic just trying to save up for an intake. I'm not hating on you though, I would do the same thing if I were you. And if your parents got you the car..... be grateful and don't act like one of those Keeds. Anyway..have fun modding the G.

Man with that kind of torque/power you really need to do a full engine build. I'd seriously look at getting an engine built on the mainland, maybe even shipping your car up there for the work.

Without a fully built bottom end and your power goals you are asking for some serious trouble if you don't have someone take care of every single detail for you.

I don't think the SC is the way to go for that kind of power. I think you need to go T or TT. I'd guess you'd probably need to go with a custom kit, don't know if the pre-packaged/pre-engineered kits out there are built for that kind of output.

I've got APS which gets me something fun and streetable. Do not get your stuff from Revolution.........save yourself the heartache. Also Hypersports did my gauges.......dip****s!!! Whoever did the install there tapped into a pulsing power source so while the gauges work fine, I get gauge flicker every so often.

If I were you, I'd go to Cali for the work. You could look into SGP in Texas and there's also a good shop in the Midwest. I'll see if I can't get you an email addy for the last shop.

no, AEBS is great. you need people like IMR, VRT, and SP to do it right. i can set you up with a mainland tuner as well. just pay for his trip and the dyno, and it's g. it sounded like money isn't an issue!

i too can vouch for Sonic's. i'm good with the owner as well.

The all knowing XLR8SN has spoken...

Congrats on the sweet ride! Live it up while you're "young".

(Now I feel old... I only had an '89 sentra at 18.)
