Auto Head Lamps

Does anyone know of a way to adjust the sensitivity so that they don't come on and off so quickly. On sunny mornings when I drive to work they go on and off everytime I get in the shadow of a building or under a large bridge. Maybe I should just turn them to on and forget about it.

I don't think there is way for the driver to do that, but if there is I like to know.

Sounds like a request for the dealer. They might help you out or at the very least let you know the answer one way or the other.

There was an earlier post on here a month or two ago about a number of different computer-controlled settings that can be adjusted by the dealer...forgot who posted it though...anyone...???

Re: Auto Head Lamps

There is a list of dealer adjustable settings, including auto light sensitivity and keyless entry options. The list has been posted in the Edmund's TownHall G35 Sedan forum.

Go to Edmund's Townhall, "See more makes", "Infiniti", "G35", "Infiniti G35", and find post 6620. You might want to search that forum for "keyless entry mode list" instead of trying to navigate page by page. I'd give you a direct link, but I can't get a URL that doesn't automatically log in as me.

My dealer said the first adjustment is free, and any further changes to options are $85. Your dealer may be different. Some dealers don't actually have this list, you may need to take it to them.

Re: Auto Head Lamps

Thanks for the reference. The list is very helpful and it is good to know there is some adjustment options for a number of things. I guess this is a dealer task to fix. It would be nice to be able to do it myself. If anyone knows how, please post.

Re: Auto Head Lamps

To do it yourself requires a specialized piece of hardware to interface to the car's computer. I don't remember the thing's name, but I remember that it costs several thousand dollars. Unless you know a mechanic that has access to one, take it to the dealer.

I do wish we could program some of these things ourselves. The Buick Park Avenue lets you program these type of settings individually for each of 2 drivers, and assigns each key/keyfob to a driver; whichever key or keyfob you use to get into the car, that's the settings it pulls up. It even keeps track of which radio station you were listening too. I'd like to see Infiniti do something like that.

Granted, cost is an issue, but the computer we're using now is the same one in the I35, Maxima, and Altima. If they made the fancier system and offered it in all the Infiniti models, it would reduce the costs and improve the features of the car.

Re: Auto Head Lamps

I had this done and posted the sheets several months ago. Changed to 'Mode 3'. I went back as they were still too sensitive, and had them reprogram to 'Mode 4'.
Much better now. The reference sheet is in error.

Re: Auto Head Lamps

The auto lock function is when you unlock the doors with your key fob (usually accidentally as you walk away).
If a door is not opened within 1 minute, it auot locks.
