K&n?

Im new to the sports car world (last vehicle was a 4X4 truck) and I have always just dropped a K&N air filter in and left it alone. Im not interested in racing, but am interested in MPG gains and quicker accelleration. My car should arrive in a few weeks (6MT coupe '06) and i am about to just order a K&N filter..drop it in and be done with it. Is this a good idea or am i waisting my money? Any Cheap ($50- $200) alteranatives that anyone would reccomend?

Sam

I wouldn't expect much from it alone.

Using a Z-tube and K&N drop-in panel filter is one of the most popular bang-for-the-buck intake mods out there.

Installing a Z-tube is simply removing the old tube that runs from the mass flow sensor back to the throttle body (it has a big, ugly resonator on it) and replacing it with the tube from the 350Z.
