Anyone Dyno this Car?
Anyone Dyno this Car?
Hello,
I have a 2003 g35C 6MT with a Ztube and K&N filter, I just bought the 5/16 Iso-thermal from everythingG35 for $265 (good deal?) and just wondering what kind of gains I can expect and if it's enough that I would NOTICE a difference?
Thanks!

There are some pretty quick 5AT's out there...

But to answer your two questions: 1) No, nobody who's ever owned a g35 in the world has ever dynod the car. Ever. 2) The spacer does make good gains, fot a cheap bolt-on for this platform. Few bolt-ons actually make much of a difference on this platform, but the spacer consistently gives anywhere from 7 to 15hp to the wheels. In my wife's AUTOMATIC, we could really feel the difference up top. And to flame you a bit more, try a search. There's plenty of material on this mod.
As for a "performance" forum, try my350z. Much more technical content than over here. But I think you'd be surpirsed to find most z's are autos too.

You can install the bolt-on mods you can think of. You can read all the posts you can find from folk trying to convince themselevs (and you) that their money was well spent.
When you're done, your car won't be enough faster to be worth talking about. It will just be louder, and you will be out several grand. Been there, done that, take my word for it.
Somebody told me this before I started, but I couldn't believe it was true, especially after reading about all the gains people claimed they got by this mod or that mod. (What is quite amusing now is to read the disputes about differences in gains between brands for any single mod.) Believe it. Nissan has squeezed about all the power possible out of the VQ35 without taking it apart and starting over.
If you want to see some results from your expenditures, put your money into suspension, wheels and tires. That is the place where improvements can be felt for a moderate investment.
Or, take the money you waould have spent on N/A mods and save it towards FI. It will make the big leap appear a little more affordable. THEN you won't have to try to convince yourself that the car is faster!

Thanks for the useful and useless information. I'm not going to be spending thousands on the car, but I was just trying to find the best bang for the buck mods and then stay NA for a while. Eventually I'd considering going FI but I've got a little saving to do before then...
I thought the maxima.org site was bad as far as flaming goes, but this site seems to be 1000 times worse. To each his own as far as AT/MT goes but damn, I just asked a question.

Well, you bashed 5AT in G35 forum (not 6mt.net), so whats u gonna expect....
As far for the dyno, I have no clue, but I'll expect something around +7-15 whp, so it's not a big gain even i agree that its' still one of the best bang for bucks...
I currently have maxed out of those N/A modifications that I can think of (other than X-turbo Piggyback ECU that I consider to install on later date)
When you have those N/A modifications done (yours + pulley, Headers, plenum, H/F cats, tru dual exhaust, grounding kits), you can put some smile in your face because you gonna feel the pull from mid-range to high-end
It's definately faster and you can really feel it....
Is it worth it? dunno.... some people just never know when enough is enough (including me, heck, im thinking about FI now)
