That's a kicka$$ grill. Does anyone know how it get one of these any easier than through Teiwa directly??

Um...I already have an aftermarket intake. I'm pretty pleased with it seeing as how I got it for free. Wouldn't want to pay $20 for a used or $100 just for a tube to gain 2hp. Mine looks and sounds better IMHO.

the tube and the intake are different things, and it would be $75 for a new one, and it would add a different, and from the responses of everyone that has one installed, more sporty/pleasent sound.

It would be hard to beat getting it for free, unless you also had them install it for you as well. :-)

Re: The best $20 20 min. mod so far.

I install everything on my cars. Intake took all of 15 minutes. Exhaust took about an hour w/ a floor jack & hand tools.

Even did a B16A motor swap into my old 91 Integra w/ hand tools, floor jack, jackstands, and no engine lift.

But back to the post. I honestly don't think the 350Z tube is worth the money. But hey to each his own.

2hp is only on the coupe I would think on the sedan it would be at least 6hp? Not sure tho.

Just put my 350z duct in that I got from Gyula S. (InSaneAmine, aka Z-xtreme) from his 350. Thanks from a fellow Grounding Guy!

Only takes 10 to 15 minutes to do the install. First noticed, a throatier exhaust (intake?) note. Sounds sportier! Not sure I noticed that much difference in power or reponse though. I like it for the sound alone, but my gas mileage may go down as I'll probably get more aggressive on the throttle just to hear it! What I don't like is that gap that it leaves on the engine cover.

Gord,

The gap on the engine cover is a very small price to pay for
that beautiful throaty sound you get out of it! Man I love the
sound, it makes me want to get on the accelerator all the
time. It just takes a little push on the accelerator to get that
beautiful sound, then when I really get on it, the throaty sound
of the Z duct turns into a fantastic howl from the Stillen
Hi-Flow.

What about swapping the stock engine cover for a 350Z engine cover to compensate?

Gordy ---- how did you get the lighting so even in the picture you posted of the two air intakes? Were you using special lighting equipment.? Very clear pictures.

Why would there be such a difference in the HP increase for the AT as compared to the stick? You quote a three times increase.

Ca_Kid:

Re the picture lighting. No special equipment. Tried the flash, but it gave funky shadows. Took it out side and waited for a cloud to pass overhead. All my digital pics are taken with a cheap 2 megapixel HP camera.

Where can you buy one for $75, please post a url or some sort of info as to where. I get pm's all the time about CAI's and sometimes the way people word their question's to me I bring up the Z tube as part of a balanced reply. I'd like to also be able to let them know where they can get a Z tube for $75 as part of the reply. To me, paying $100 is to much and compeating with other's for a used one stinks.

Thanks in advance.
