Re: Borla Mods question

The Borla exhaust almost sound like stock from what people who own it are stating. The Headers make a bigger HP gain than the exhaust does. About 10hp from what I read around.
Probably looking at only 18HP gain from these mods together...

But if you want the best bang for the buck, I would either go NOS, SC, or TT kit. NOS runs about $1200. SC runs about 4~5000. Finally the TT kit runs about 7~8000.

Any three of these can easily give the G about 70~100HP easy =)

Re: Borla Mods question

Their have been some excellent discusions on headers in general, including how much gain the borla headers are really putting out (some say a little some say alot). If I do recall some dyno's are quoted.

I have heard and seen several sound bits/mpegs that featured the Borla. A very nice sounding setup. I think it takes what is good with the stock system and makes it better and certainly deeper, IMO

Here's a link so you can down load some mp3's or mpeg's from the dyno shoot out.

If will also allow you to hear other systems as well. My personel favorite is the Injen.

Re: Borla Mods question

RaySur.....the Borla exhaust DOES NOT SOUND LIKE STOCK.
I had the stock exhaust for 4 months, and now the Borla exhaust for 2 months. The difference in sound is quite noticable. Power gain is slightly noticable, i would say between 5 and 10 horses, closer to 10.

Re: Borla Mods question

does boral also make hi-flow cats? there doesn't seem to be much talk of cats... they should make a bundle for entire exhaust system with a nice discount ;D

In the July Cat/Back shoot out in San Jose, the Borla pulled 8.2 rwhp, and the Stillen pulled 7.1 rwhp.
Like you, I love the sound of the Borla, much deeper and pronounced than the stock exhaust.
