Just remember - hearing rasp in the car and having it are 2 separate things. TP's do not make a rasp noise - an exhaust system that has mufflers not able to properly account for the extra pulse and flow is what causes rasp.

By wrapping the pipes, though, you allow the gasses to remain hotter longer, and that will affect the pulse length and ultimately the flow as well. That could mellow out rasp, but only a little bit.

Just keep in mind - it takes a muffler to stop the rasp - whether it is a muffler at the rear of the car or say, a muffled x-pipe at the front of the system. Of the two, the x=pipe is the best performing solution.

Rick,

Ever hear of a car that has this "rasp" with the FI cats? Regardless of exhaust system? Stock or otherwise?

I am seriously considering the FI cats until I get my cat-back (Christmas is expensive), just don't know about the 300 or 400 cell cats?

Thanks for the imput.

Don
