I am going to concur with, you get what you pay for.

Megan Racing test pipes (same as all those $100 TP's on eBay)

Note the poorly designed downward sloping position of the O2 sensors, leaving them prone to being damaged if your car is lowered. O2 sensors = expensive !$!$!

LaBree test pipes:

Don't think I have any installed pics of these, but I'll look for some...

???

Did you just see what happened to the $100 test pipes in the above pics....

You'll want to go with something good like LaBree, Kinetix, Fast Intentions, etc. Yes, you will end up paying $300+ for them. But its better than buying the crappy $100 ones and replacing them every few months cuz they broke and suck. Or even worse, damaging your O2 sensor, and spending more than the cost of test pipes to replace them.

I had the same dilemma, but decided I'll just save up and buy good shyt right away. Rather spend more than have a headache later and end up paying the same amount in replacement.

Hey Gunner........ what catback do you have? I'll bet stock. Am I right? I'll bet if you run the cheapo's with and free flowing catback, it's going to rasp, buzz and drone. The trick about test pipes is you need to match them up with your exhaust. Also with pipes is the bends and "bubbles" have to be engineered not to create turbulence in the exhaust. This is a big problem with drone. It's always a certain rpm that it creates a harmonic that starts the system to vibrate ( buzz as I like to call it) and you get drone in the cabin. This is also why "Resonate" test pipes are better at controlling the buzz. I guess it all depends on what you're going to do later on with your exhaust. Buy these now and maybe you'll buy better ones later again. I guess it's up to you and your budget. Hope it helps.

Thanks. I dont plan on doing any exhaust work. im not big on doing exhaust and i could never change that exhaust note we have now. so, saving and getting the better ones are the right way to go i assume?

I would go Kinetix. But out of those 2, I would go FI, simpley because I do not like Crawford. And yes, I've had Crawford HFC's...

I chose to suck it up and Purchase the FI testpipes because their reputation for building quality products is exceptional but also because the hgiher end resonated testpipes use larger and higher quality resonators thus ruducing rasp more than some of the other less expensive options.

FYI, LaBree and FI both use Sebring resonators.
