hfc differences

alright, i used the search engine and read up all i could.

i noticed that Fast Intentions and new non-cracking Crawford were the top 2 suggested hfcs. i was just wondering why not the other brands? is it just a quality issue? how about power gains? are they all about the same? such as kinetix. TIA

From what I can tell, they are all pretty much the same. There is some debate as to build quality but companies seem to have fixed all issues. I know kinetix and Crawford both stand by their products incase something goes wrong. Hopefully this thread won’t turn into a kinetix vs Crawford flame war. I personally would get Crawford.

fast intentions HFCs FTW!! crawfords would be my second choice..

each brands HFCs are different. they differ from the build quality to the material used to looks to performance.

i dont know what the specs of the other HFCs are but to give you an example, fast intentions has ceramic and metallic cats. their ceramics are built to be very durable but they are 400 cell so they although they are much less restrictive they are more restrictive that their metallic 300 cell cats. the metallic 300 cell cats are recommended over the metallic 400 cell cats on f/i cars because they are built for maxium durability, as i understand it.

not sure if i explained that clealy..lol

lemme dig up the PM tony sent me..

"300 Cell Metallic:
It is a metallic foil rolled then heat treated for integrity. They hold up very well against heat and are reccommended for FI applications. They are also less restrictive then a 400 cell ceramic so they will make more power.

400 Cell Ceramic:
It is a honeycomb style ceramic brick. They are essentialy an upgraded version of stock cats. They are much less restrictive then stock cats but don't flow as well as the Metallic's do."

-tony

i opted for the fast intentions HFCs because i have heard zero negative feedback from their customers and they have great customer service. tony and rick have been very helpful and made my HFC purchase a very pleasant experience!
