injen ses installed

just finished installing my injen ses exhaust angled tips made for the 350z, it was shorter than the one for the G but i didnt want to wait for the staights and i like the way the angled looked, i had to get 2 8" extensions made to make it fit and it did all fit perfect, the tips dont come out as far as i would like and it is a little close to the rear bumper so im gonna keep an eye on that, here are some pics, i have to do some adjusting to get the tips equal although they are close already, the sound is great, deep and not too loud, the power increase is very noticable with quicker revs and a more more umph, and my injen cai can be heard almost all the time now, dont know what that is,

I love the sound of that system, that's why I went with their mufflers for my custom true dual. In my eye, your in serious risk of melting the plactic around the bumper facia. One of those things I hope I'm wrong about. But if I'm right, big $$$ to fix.

Re: injen ses installed

yeah the sound is great, it can be a little deep and loud when in the low rpm, high gears, kinda like when you are just cruising it has a deep drone to it and vibrates a little but i like it, the bumper was a concern at first but i think its gonna be fine, the tips do get warm and ive felt the bumper near it after long drives and its ok, i think when driving the wind carries the hot air away, plus im gonna adjust it to get it more clearance, it not ill just put some custom exhaust shields on it.

Re: injen ses installed

hey Tig,
Injen is changing all of their new design with the tip extension due to the fact that "YOUR BUMPER WILL HAVE SCORCH MARKS" most definetly. However I do like the look! and yes it has a nice roar! Congrad on the new exhaust!

Just to show you an example of what the scorch mark will look like

Re: injen ses installed

thanks pearl, it wont have scorch marks if i wipe it down frequently, and i might get some custom heat shields made.

Re: injen ses installed

Scorch marks aren't the problem. As you seem to suspect, it's the heating/cooling cycles that will eventually dehydrohalogenate the polymer, hardening it at first, then making it brittle enough to crack. Heat shields are a good idea.

Honestly Tig, I think you should go back to the shop, cut the cans off and weld an extension pipe in there. Those tips need to stick out of the car.. Paint problems, and carbon monoxide getting trapped under the car.

Re: injen ses installed

thanks nark, actually ive been under the car and realized i can just get the extensions made a bit longer, then just relocate the hangers so it will look better and be further from the bumper, problem solved!

OHHH man, how i love the angled exhast. How much did you pay for the exhast, not installed. By the way do you have any videos or sound clips of it? And the wheels. Man i really like the ride.
