The coolant control valve with iso thermal spacer

I just installed the 1/2'' Iso thermal spacer from motordyne, great instructions and wasnt THAT hard of an install.

However it does say to turn off the valve under 55 degrees FH and then turn it on over 55 degrees, but does anyone actually turn on and off the valve all the time with the morning and evening weather?? Is it necessary?

Just wondering about that, thankyou

ha ha - no I think what it means is consistently under or above a certain temperature. i think 55 is very conservative. i don't think the throttle is going to have any issues sticking until it reaches freezing temps (under 32). I live in NC and really only in Dec and Jan does it go below that (and mostly only at night). So for those two months I leave the valve open to allow circulation of coolant.

The rest of the time it's closed.

I'd say if your avg daily temps are below 50, then keep the valve open; otherwise leave it closed.
