The merge on the y-pipe looks like a massive choke point.

That's what i noticed too. It looks like it merges back into a single 2.25-2.50" pipe instead of the standard 3". Looks like a poorly designed y-pipe. Probably much worse than stock y-pipe which has a bigger merge area.

I've had personal experience with their setup. I am running their y-pipe and midpipe until their muffler for the sedan is finished. The main piping is 2.5" and the merge is actually done quite well, mandrel bent with a 1-piece collector. They have a 3" system (told me for turbo or supercharged only), but with 3" on a NA motor there was a significant loss in exhaust velocity, and no increase in low-mid range power, but using the 2.5" piping worked good to increase low-mid range torque and hp with only a 1hp difference versus the 3" in the high end. Which for my daily driver, made the most sense since i'm using low-mid range 90% of the time.

I beleive UR also did the same thing recently, going from 3" to 2.5" for their setup.

Give the guys at ZTek a call they are pretty knowledgable and know their stuff.

BTW- the pics you posted was for the FX system... go here and you'll see the G system, different Y-pipe and muffler I think.
