Plenum Spacer Problem

ok.. I just installed Skunk2 5/8" plenum spacer in my 04 g35... everything works perfect, car drives really smoothly.. but.. when i stop on the red light and car is not moving for about 15 sec it starts to shake.. it feels like not enough air is coming to the engine or something like that.. is any of you have the same problem cuz i dont think that its normal :/ and how can i fix it
ps. i have pop charger installed (JWT for few months) and i used silicon while installing spacer
thanx guys

Not sure why the silicone...if it was RTV caulking like you use around home, it can damage O2 sensors. Gives off vapors as it cures that can coat the sensors making them malfunction.
You should only use approved gasket compounds anywhere on the engine.
With the MD spacer we don't use any. Don't know what 'Skunk' advises.
Not saying that's your problem, but something to be aware of.....

check for leaks - follow the spacer all the way around to ensure it is flush above and below spacer

might want to make sure that nothing fell down inside of the lower plenum...i know there are those little white tab objects that the middle 6 bolts wrap around when they attach to the bottom plenum...hopefully one of those didnt fall off while putting the top plenum back on...if it was that though you would know!

I would say that the ECU just needs to be reset.

the shaking makes me think of a misfire whether you have a bad coil or plug. how many miles do you have on your 04 and have the plugs ever been changed? did you unhook any additional vaccum lines when the spacer went on? also is the ses light on or blinking?

did you disconnect the throttle body? if you did, you need to follow the recalibration procedure.

There is a rubber hose connecting to the intake tube on the side,

check if it's disconnected. I had the problem, accidentally disconnected that hose.

Cool, was just checking. yes, connectors or hoses left off.. do a good search for that.
Worse case, put it back stock, and see if the problem is gone. Good luck!

Check for leakage, i.e:

1) is your plenum or spacer resting on the Oil filler tube's rubber gourment?
2) Did you reconnect all the vacuum hoses back into the plenum and or the Intake tube
3) Did you tighten down the bolts back to spec? (You can loosen everything and try one more time to make sure that all bolts are tighthened correctly).

Good luck! I had problem with leakage before too..because I didnt tighten down the bolts correctly

check for vac leaks.
try spraying carb cleaner around the area you were working
the engine is running , the idle speed will go up when you hit the leak

^ +1. I would suggest a vacuum leak. Godmans has covered the common issues. I had the oil filler gasket problem with my Motordyne on my initial install.
