I just bought a Injen CAI for my 04 G35 6spd coupe and I tried to install it and theres like no way to make it cold air you have to make it short ram. Has anyone installed a Injen CAI true cold air ? please tell me how

 

i can help some what cause i have a 03 sedan. you have to remove the front bumper in order to put the extension and filter.one more thing get a bypass valve to avoid water digestion.good luck njsfastestg.

yah, I took my bumber off and read instructions and theres like no way to do it , cuz the CAI is same for 350z and the instructions show it on a 350z but on a g35 the Air condtion pipes are in the way and there is no whole for it to go through. So i had to make it Short Ram. Can anyone help me with this ?

Don't bother going short ram. IMO it's worst than having stock. I just changed it from the short ram today. Much nicer now. I am happy.

 

Oh yeah.. I went through the front of the wheel well instead of taking off the bumper. You have to jack up the car and take the tire off, take the clips and a phillips screw off the front wheel well plastic from on the inside and there are about 8 bolts from underneath that you have to remove and then you can pull that out far enough to do your work. There is another plastic peice in there that holds that front wheel well peice from the inside but it is flexible enough that you can pull the wheel well out far enough so you wont have to do anymore work. After you are totally done with the install, you HAVE to reset your ECU. There are a couple of options. Disconnecting the battery for at least 6 hours which I did the very first time or doing the ECU Reset procedure. I have sure not had any kind of problems with my engine idle, but I guess I know what to do now.

 

like its impossible for my intake 2 fit like theres no hole for the injen to go in anyone else have problem and have to cut [censored] ?

I had STAGEMOTORSPORT install my INJEN CAI.
I am very happy with it. Robert was able to install it without taking out the bumer. He jacked up the car on the driver side and went behind the wheel. We had to move the "sensor" from it's upright position and til it to the left. The sensor was preventing the hood from closing. I haven't had any problems with the CAI. He didn't have to remove the bumper or disconnect the batter. Truely a great job and very professional! Here's a pic!

hey, sorry i haven't been online lately. i wanted to know if u got it on.my instuctions showed the 350 z too. the question i have did the dealer give u the right one? cause the automatic i have takes the 1990 model. the 6 speed coupe takes the 1992 model i think. look into that and let me know. good luck.p.s.i have no trouble whatsoever and don't forget the bypass valve too. njsfastestg
